FAITHFULL REDUCED TOT TO TEARS
Actress/singer MARIANNE FAITHFULL singing voice once reduced a toddler to tears - much to the embarrassment of the tot’s father.
Filmmaker Gerry Fox admits he was mortified when his young daughter Frankie cried during a personal performance by the Sixties icon.
He says, "Marianne launched into a beautiful Irish ballad, singing in that unmistakably gravelly way.
"At first Frankie enjoyed it, concentrating hard and smiling sweetly into Marianne’s weathered face, as her cigarette-strained voice grew even louder and more emotional. But after two verses Frankie could take no more. She burst into tears, howling louder than Marianne was singing. I could have died."
