England soccer star DAVID BECKHAM is returning to college to lecture students at a global seminar on the role of sport in diplomacy.
Beckham, who will be officially unveiled as a LA Galaxy player later this month (Jun07), will visit students at the University of Southern California (USC) to talk about the impact the sport has had on the world.
USC Professor Nicholas Cull says, "David Beckham is already part of the masters course taught here, as an example of the influence of athletes, so I am hoping that he will be able to address us at that seminar. "People who don’t follow football (soccer) don’t appreciate what a globally significant figure David Beckham is even now with his career in transition."
