SHEEN WATCHES SIZEMORE GET SENT TO PRISON
Veteran actor MARTIN SHEEN watched as TOM SIZEMORE was sentenced to 16 months in prison on Monday (22Jun07), after accepting an invitation to join the troubled actor’s mother in court.
The West Wing star was at Los Angeles County Superior Court, where Sizemore was sent to prison for violating his probation in a 2004 crystal methamphetamine possession case.
Speaking outside the hearing, Sheen said he attended at the request of Sizemore’s mum and that his son, and former drug addict, Charlie is friends with Sizemore.
He added, "(I have) experience with addiction in my own life and in my own family." Last week (ends22Jun07), Black Hawk Down actor Sizemore admitted violating his probation when police found two bags of crystal methamphetamine and pipes in his possession during an arrest in May (07) in Bakersfield, California.
Sizemore, who has been in custody since his arrest, is due back in court on Tuesday (26Jun07), when a judge will determine how much credit will be applied to his sentence for time already served.
