FLOYD CAR TO BE GIVEN AWAY DURING 40TH ANNIVERSARY EXHIBITION
PINK FLOYD fans in California will get the chance to drive off in a car airbrushed with STORM THORGERSON’s album cover art as part of a 40th anniversary celebration this autumn (07).
Thorgerson, who designed Pink Floyd’s iconic album art, will premiere a new exhibition of his work at Los Angeles’ Mr Musichead gallery in October (07) to coincide with the band’s 40th anniversary.
And one lucky fan will drive off with a one-of-a-kind Floyd car.
Mr Musichead proprietor Sam Milgrom says, "We’ll be airbrushing Pink Floyd album cover art by Storm all over a 2007 hybrid, and outfitting the vehicle with a Bose sound system." A Les Paul guitar will also be airbrushed and given away as part of the exhibition, which will also mark the Los Angeles launch of Thorgerson’s new art book, Mind Over Matter - The Images Of Pink Floyd.
