CRUISE WARNED: ‘KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY FATHER’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:29 pm

LATEST: TOM CRUISE has been blasted as the "wrong choice" to play a legendary German assassin - by the son of his infamous character.
The actor is set to begin shooting Valkyrie in Germany this summer (07), in which he plays Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, leader of an unsuccessful plot to kill Adolf Hitler during World War II.
However, the casting has been condemned by von Stauffenberg’s oldest son, 72-year-old Berthold von Stauffenberg, who fears the star will make the film "crap".
He says, "(Cruise) should keep his hands off my father.
"I hoped for a while that it was all just a publicity stunt by Mr. Cruise. It (the film) is sure to be crap. Of course, I could be wrong - I would like to be.
"I am not saying that Cruise is a bad actor - I cannot judge that. But, in any case, I fear that it could turn into horrible kitsch." Cruise’s participation in the movie has already been slammed by Germany’s Defence Ministry, who class his controversial Scientology beliefs little more than a "money-making cult". Officials have banned filming on any military sites in the country.
Berthold von Stauffenberg adds of the religion, "It’s off-putting".
