The German military have banned filming of TOM CRUISE’s new movie at its bases because they object to the actor’s Scientology religion.
Scientology is not recognised as a church by the German government, who claim the controversial religion is a "money-making cult".
Cruise is set to begin filming Valkyrie in Germany this summer (07), in which he plays Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, leader of an unsuccessful plot to kill Adolf Hitler during World War II.
Harald Kammerbauer, spokesman for the country’s Defence Ministry, says, "(Producers) will not be allowed to film at German military sites if Count Stauffenberg is played by Tom Cruise, who has publicly professed to being a member of the Scientology cult.
"In general, the Bundeswehr (German military) has a special interest in the serious and authentic portrayal of the events of July 20, 1944 and Stauffenberg’s person."

HARRY POTTER actor DANIEL RADCLIFFE loves the attention he receives from female fans, even though his mother is still struggling with her son being an "object of lust".
The 17-year-old star admits he has started receiving more attention from teenage girls in recent years and is embarrassed by screaming fans when he’s with his mum Marcia.
He says, "(My mother) didn’t immediately understand that her little boy was not an object of lust. Someone said to me the other day, ‘Do you ever worry that girls are just giving you attention because of who you are?’ "I was like, ‘I’m 17, and I don’t care! It’s wonderful.’"

Actor ANTONIO BANDERAS is planning to quit life in Hollywood to move back to his native Spain.
The Zorro star admits he stays in the U.S. purely for work and detests the fake nature of Tinseltown.
He says, "We will end up living in Spain. My wife (actress Melanie Griffith) and I have a very limited social life. When you see actors on the red carpet they seem to know each other but really it’s like a wax museum.
"Los Angeles is probably one of the fakest cities in the world. For me it is a working place."

Pop superstar MADONNA has paid $12 million (£6 million) for her sixth house in London.
The 10-bedroom townhouse sits next door to the family’s eight-bedroom home in the Marylebone area of the British capital.
The Like A Virgin hitmaker and husband Guy Ritchie also own two nearby properties for their staff, and two more houses in central London.
The couple paid almost twice the amount its former owner, designer/developer Paul Davies, paid in August of last year (06).

The Batman Begins star is rarely in the press because he chooses to live his private life behind close doors and detests the celebrity lifestyle.

The producers of the sixth HARRY POTTER film will search for character Ron Weasley’s girlfriend at open auditions in a London arena next month (01Jul07).
The move follows last year’s (06) successful casting call, which helped the studio find Evanna Lynch and Katie Leung to play Luna Lovegood and Cho Chang respectively in Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, which is released next month (Jul07).
Producers are looking for strictly British teenage girls to attend the audition at London’s Earls Court Exhibition Centre on 1 July, before they will seek a teenage boy to play Tom Riddle on 8 July.

LATEST: Troubled actor TOM SIZEMORE has been sentenced to 16 months in prison for violating his probation in a 2004 crystal methamphetamine possession case.
The Black Hawk Down star appeared at Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday (25Jun07). He will serve his sentence at Donovan Correctional Facility near San Diego, California, which has a drug rehab facility.
Sizemore, 45, previously admitted violating his probation when police found two bags of crystal methamphetamine and pipes in his possession during an arrest last month (May07) in Bakersfield, California.
In a court appearance last week (ends22Jun07), he tearfully begged the judge to give him another chance to overcome his drug problems.
Sizemore, who has been in custody since his arrest, is due back in court on Tuesday (26Jun07), when a judge will determine how much credit will be applied to his sentence for time already served.

New measures to prevent people entering England’s Glastonbury Festival illegally have failed.
The music extravaganza, which took place last weekend (22-24Jun07), has been subject to tighter and tighter entry regulations since 1995, when the festival’s size was almost doubled by people breaching the site’s outer fence without paying for tickets.
As an extra precaution this year (07), and to prevent over-inflated sales on internet sites like eBay, purchasers had to pre-register for tickets in February, including submission of a passport photo.
However, the initiative has been criticised for the poor quality reproduction of the photos, which allowed many holders to sell on their £145 ($290) tickets, despite tight security inside.
One fare-dodger says, "I picked up two tickets for me and a friend on Friday from a girl who was leaving the festival early. Even though I looked nothing like her and didn’t have a wristband with my ticket, I was still let in eventually - and paid half the price for it." Despite the ticket breaches, overall crime at the festival was down from 2005, with 236 offences reported to Avon and Somerset Police against 267 from the previous festival. British rapper THE STREETS was left speechless after meeting his idols DAFT PUNK at the O2 Wireless Festival in London earlier this month (Jun07).
The MC, real name Mike Skinner, admits he was totally starstruck when he met the French dance duo at the 16 June gig in Hyde Park.
He tells MTV.co.uk, "Oh my gosh! The Daft Punk show is unbelievable. Two robots playing blazing grooves from this huge pyramid made of TV screens. Felix from Basement Jaxx introduced me to Thomas Bangalter (from Daft Punk) after as well, which was the most starstruck moment of my life.
"I was just standing there listening to what he was saying, enjoying the moment and then this girl started rattling on in my ear going on about The Streets, blah blah…"

KORN frontman JONATHAN DAVIS still "loves" former bandmate BRIAN ‘HEAD’ WELCH, despite being dubbed Satan by the guitarist.
Welch quit the band in 2005 after finding God. He has since attacked his former bandmates and has a book out next month (Jul07), called Save Me From Myself: How I Found God, Quit Korn, Kicked Drugs, and Lived to Tell My Story in which he is expected to comment negatively about his time in the band.
But Davis insists he will still read the book. He says during an interview with AOL Music, "I know it will be good head is very talented.
"I love the guy, he just needs to move on and stop badmouthing us that’s all.
We do not talk, I’m Satan to him."

British super producer MARK RONSON has heaped praise on THE CHARLATANS’ TIM BURGESS for making a Transatlantic trek to appear on stage with him at Glastonbury.
Earlier this year (07) Ronson released an album of covers called Version, featuring a host of stars including Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse, but he feared he’d never get the chance to work with his number one idol Burgess.
However, after months of pleading, the British singer agreed to fly in from his current home in Los Angeles to join Ronson live at the Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England.
Speaking during the Sunday night (24Jun07) set, a thrilled Ronson said, "I’ve been badgering this legend for so long and he finally gave in.
"Playing with him on stage has not only made my entire festival, it’s made my whole year too. I can’t begin to explain how good this feels." Burgess sang The Charlatans’ 1990 single The Only One I Know, which British pop star Robbie Williams covers on Ronson’s album.

Late British royal DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES was a flirt and once blew a kiss to SIMON LE BON, according to the DURAN DURAN frontman.
The singer, who is performing at the Princess Diana Memorial Concert for Diana this weekend (01Jul07), confesses the experience at a London gym left him embarrassed.
He recalls, "She and I used to go to the same fitness club - Chelsea Harbour in London. One day I was on the running machine. I jumped off because one of my shoelaces had come undone, and she wolf-whistled at me across the room, and yelled, like a brickie (bricklayer), ‘Nice legs! I’d recognise that bum anywhere!’ I was quite taken aback, actually, and quietly got back on the machine with a red face."

Super producer MARK RONSON’s first Glastonbury set was almost halted prematurely when his guest star ALEX GREENWALD broke health and safety regulations by scaling the stage rigging.
Greenwald, lead singer of Californian rock band Phantom Planet, was covering Radiohead’s Just with Ronson at the Somerset, England festival on Sunday night (24Jun07) when he clambered up the metal supports holding up the lighting, before hanging by one arm nearly 20 feet (6 metres) above the stage.
Still clutching his microphone, Greenwald ignored the frantic pleas of festival officials to climb down, and finished the song swinging from the rigging.
Audience member Daniel Brown says, "I thought the officials were going to pull the plug on the whole set. Two came on stage to usher him (Greenwald) down but he just ignored their threats." Ronson’s set also featured guest appearances from The Charlatans’ Tim Burgess and R&B singer/songwriter Daniel Merriweather.

British musician PAUL WELLER is set to receive the Silver Clef lifetime achievement award.
The songwriter/guitarist is being honoured for his 30 career, during which he formed The Jam and The Style Council before embarking on a successful solo career.
Weller will be honoured on 29 June (07) at the U.K. music industry’s annual O2 Silver Clef Luncheon.
The Clef Luncheon raises money for the Nordoff-Robins Music Therapy charity, a group that uses music to improve the lives of impaired children and adults.

The two sons of late Beatle JOHN LENNON have reconciled after a eight year feud.
Julian Lennon - son of the singer’s first wife Cynthia - fell out with his younger half-brother after he made negative comments about Sean’s mother Yoko Ono.
The brothers reconciled earlier this year (07) when Julian, 44, surprised Sean, 31, on the latter’s tour bus.
Julian tells the New York Post, "I thought it time to make big changes in my own life. Part of that has been to get Sean back in to my life, because I love him so much.
"I got in touch with Sean’s tour manager without him knowing, and was sitting backstage when he came off a gig in Prague. He said, ‘Jesus, you look just like my brother.’ "I said, ‘I am your brother.’ He looked really closely at me, and it scared the s**t out of him. We just hugged and held each other.
"We had been out of touch because of comments I had made about his mother. So he said: ‘How long are you staying?’ I told him: ‘I am coming on the tour bus with you.’ So I slept on the floor as we travelled through Croatia and Slovenia."

COURTENEY COX has vowed never to work with husband DAVID ARQUETTE because she fears the strain it would put on their marriage.
The couple appeared on screen together in spoof horror movie Scream, but Cox insists she wouldn’t ever juggle her family and professional life again.
She says, "It’s just asking for trouble. If you’re living with someone, it’s not a good idea to place the kind of strain on your marriage that comes from being on set together for 14 hours a day.
