COLLINS URGES MORE RESEARCH INTO SUICIDE & DRUGS
Veteran singer JUDY COLLINS is urging researchers to continue looking into the links between substance abuse and suicide, 15 years after her son killed himself.
The 68-year-old’s only child Clark Taylor committed suicide in 1992 at the age of 33.
Collins’ new book The Seven T’s: Finding Hope And Healing In The Wake Of Tragedy deals with strategies to cope with grief, but the star insists much more needs to be done. She says, "I don’t think suicide, alcohol and drug addiction is nearly as well understood as it should be."
