Grammy-winning singer PAULA ABDUL is set to team up with popular motivational book series Chicken Soup For The Soul - in a bid to help inspire young girls around the world.
The American Idol judge will create both books and greeting cards with the self-help franchise, and is aiming to lend her support to her fellow females through the medium of the written word.
She says, "I’m teaming up with the people behind the Chicken Soup For The Soul books and greeting cards aimed at girls and young women.
"The message will be ‘keep your dreams alive.’"

LATEST: Pop star JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE has backed down from banning girlfriend JESSICA BIEL on tour - the pair met up in Amsterdam and Stockholm this week (ends22Jun07).
The SexyBack hitmaker was forced to send the The Illusionist actress back to the U.S. recently because he finds it difficult to focus on his work when he is with her.
He said, "She truly insisted that she came with me on tour. I don’t know how to say no to a pretty face. But it wasn’t really a good idea. This time I’m putting the machine before everything else.
"Jessica met up with me in Manchester, England, but for Paris (France), I told her categorically no. This tour is very important to me. I’m doing it really seriously so there’s no question of playing sweethearts." However, it seems the singer’s had a change of heart because Biel, 25, arrived in Amsterdam, Holland, on Sunday evening (17Jun07) and flew with him to Stockholm, Sweden, for a show yesterday (18Jun07).
Elias Karroum, owner of a Lebanese restaurant they dined at in the city, tells People.com, "They seemed like an ordinary couple in love. They were very sweet."

Supermodel NAOMI CAMPBELL makes a mockery of her bad reputation in a new commercial for Dunkin’ Donuts.
The British star, who settled a lawsuit with a former employee last week (15Jun07) over claims she was verbally and physically abused by the star, will feature in the new advert which pokes fun at her anger-management issues.
The commercial, which was filmed yesterday (18Jun07) also stars U.S.
lifestyle guru Martha Stewart.
A source tells the New York Post, "In the script Naomi is gardening in an evening dress. Something goes wrong, she gets frustrated, and she flips out.
"She then takes her shoe off and throws it through a window. Next to her is a Martha Stewart type who is calm, cool and collected, thanks to her frozen Dunkin’ Donuts drink."

Oscar-winning actor JAMIE FOXX refused to let GLADYS KNIGHT watch his stand-up show - because he didn’t want the legendary singer to be shocked by his rude behaviour.
Knight played the Ray star’s mother in several episodes of TV series The Jamie Foxx show, and was keen to see her on-screen offspring perform his comedy routine to a live audience.
Foxx refused on the grounds of taste and decency - and Knight admits she’s still overwhelmed by the actor’s good manners.
She says, "I was in Atlanta one time and I’d never seen his stand up show and he was at the Civic Centre. I called him up to say Hi. So he was talking, ‘Mom! How ya doin’?’ I said, Jamie, I think I’ll come down to see your show. He said, ‘Mom, you can’t come.’ I said, Why not? I’m free tonight. He said, ‘Mom, you can’t come to see me. My stand-up show is…kinda blue.’ "He had so much respect for me he couldn’t do his show in front of me. I’d never even heard him curse."

The Sex And The City star was booked on Pan Am flight 103 from London to New York in December 1988 - but cancelled her booking at the last minute.
The Boeing 747 was targetted by Libyan terrorists who placed a bomb onboard which exploded over the town of Lockerbie, killing all passengers onboard.

LATEST: Bollywood star SANJAY DUTT’s sentencing on a terrorism conviction has been delayed following a legal challenge.
The actor was found guilty of illegal possession of arms in relation to the 1993 serial bombings in Mumbai, but a challenge by others convicted in connection with the blasts means he won’t learn his fate until Friday (22Jun07) at the earliest.
A special anti-terror court in India has already sentenced 76 of the 100 people found guilty in connection with the attacks, which were allegedly masterminded by Mumbai’s Muslim-dominated underworld in revenge for deadly Hindu-Muslim religious clashes a few months earlier.
However, earlier today (19Jun07) 15 people who have been found guilty of planting the bombs argued the anti-terror court did not have the right to decide sentencing.
Lawyers for the group say the Terrorists and Disruptive Activities Act (TADA) - under which the court was set up - was repealed years ago, and they plan to appeal to India’s Supreme Court.
Earlier this year (07), Dutt was cleared of the more serious charge of conspiracy in the attacks, which claimed 257 lives.

Actress ISLA FISHER has shown off her pregnancy bump after weeks of speculation the star is expecting a child with fiance SACHA BARON COHEN.
The Wedding Crashers star was pictured at the Pride parade in Los Angeles earlier this month (Jun07) in a tight-fitting top, clearly displaying her expectant mother status after months of being spotted in loose-fitting clothing.

Sacked GREY’S ANATOMY star ISAIAH WASHINGTON has likened the media persecution of him to that suffered by race activists MALCOLM X and PAUL ROBESON.
The actor was fired from the medical drama earlier this month (Jun07) in the wake of a homophobic remark he made about castmate T.R. Knight last October (06) - a comment he repeated at the Golden Globe Awards earlier this year (07).
He maintains the controversy has fuelled misconceptions about him, with many forgetting the good work he does for African charities.
But Washington is pragmatic about the experience: "Maybe for 50 years and the history of media and television I represent something that’s supposed to not exist.
"This happened to Malcolm X, this happened to Paul Robeson - this misconception can happen to any man of power that loves himself and wants to spread that love and that humanity throughout the world."

British glamour model KATIE ‘JORDAN’ PRICE has been forced to cancel a string of personal appearances in the U.K. after collapsing with exhaustion.
Price is currently expecting her third child, and the heavily pregnant star has been ordered my doctors to scrap any signings promoting her new book series, Katie Price’s Perfect Ponies, until after the tot is born.
A spokesman for the star says, "Katie is very close to the birth of her baby, and for the sake of both her heath and that of her daughter, she has been advised by the doctor to cancel (the book signings)." Price is mother to sons Junior, two, and Harvey, five.

LATEST: Author SALMAN RUSHDIE has asked for police protection after an Iranian group reportedly put an £80,000 ($160,000) bounty on his head.
The Organisation to Commemorate the Martyrs of the Muslim World has offered to pay the sum to anyone "who was able to execute the apostate Salman Rushdie".
The group is angry Rushdie was knighted in British monarch Queen Elizabeth II’s Honours List on Saturday (16Jun07).
The Iranian and Pakistani parliaments have both condemned the honour for ‘making a mockery out of Muslims’.
Iran took offence to Rushdie’s Muslim references in controversial 1988 work The Satanic Verses, and issued a fatwa against him a year later.

British rockers HARD-FI have agreed to a last minute slot at England’s Glastonbury Festival - after ruling out a number of gigs to concentrate on studio work this summer (07).
The band are currently mixing their second album Once Upon A Time In The West, but have agreed to swap the studio for the Somerset fields on Saturday night (23Jun07) for a secret charity-inspired performance.
Frontman Richard Archer says, "It was through the Love Music Hate Racism people. They book the Leftfield stage and knew we weren’t going to do any festivals. I was thinking, ‘Lets just concentrate on getting the album out’, but then they asked us if we fancied doing it.
"We’ll play two or three new songs. At the moment we’re actually mixing the record, we’ve only got two rehearsals before Glastonbury so it’s going to be a bit like the Stones in ‘71, a bit ramshackle.

U.S. band RA RA RIOT have vowed to continue making music despite the death of their drummer earlier this month (Jun07).
John Pike went missing from a party in Massachusetts on 1 June, and his body was found two days later (03Jun07) by divers in nearby waters.
Although confessing the tragedy has hit them hard, Pike’s bandmates insist he would have wanted to continue without him.
In a MySpace posting they write, "We have felt lost since the death of our friend and band mate, John. There will always be unanswered questions, so we can only surrender to life and move forward without fully understanding.
"In our distress we feel lucky for having been so close to him, and we’re thankful for the guidance that memories of him will give us. All of us in the band are enthusiastic and determined to live out the plans we laid together with John.
"As we continue, the pain of missing a dear friend will remind us how much we loved him. Coinciding with the wishes of John’s family, we have decided to continue onward. We are thankful for the continuous support from friends, family and the music community during this difficult time. We find comfort in this solidarity, and hope that it gives us strength."

A love poem written by late PINK FLOYD rocker SYD BARRETT will be auctioned in his home town of Cambridge, England next week.
The star, who died last year (06) after health complications arising from diabetes, wrote the ode to a former love in 1965.
The verse, which also features an original drawing by Barrett, will be sold at the Cheffins Auction Rooms, in Cambridge on 27 June (07).
Last month, Barrett left almost $3.3 million (£1.75 million) to his family in his will.

A suspect for the murder of rapper STACK BUNDLES has been shot dead in New York on the same day the slain Dipset star was buried.
Stack Bundles - real name Rayquon Elliot - was shot and killed outside his home in the city last week (12Jun07). He was rushed to a nearby hospital but died soon afterwards from two gunshot wounds.
Police were believed to be pursuing aspiring rapper Charles White, 20, in connection with the crime, but he was found dead in a Queens home yesterday (18Jun07), with a pillow over his head, two bullet wounds to the head and one to the leg.
No arrests have been made in either case, but AllHipHop.com claims police suspect the deaths are connected.
A funeral for Stack Bundles was held yesterday (18Jun07), with rappers Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, Lupe Fiasco and Joe Budden in attendance.

The 24-year-old prince says he is fed-up with all the conspiracies theories surrounding Diana’s death in a Paris car crash on August 31, 1997.
In an exclusive TV interview with America’s NBC network, he said: ‘I’m afraid there are always people out there who want to make money and their chosen methods is to do it this way.
‘There are a lot of people feeding it and, unnecessarily I might add.’ During the interview, which aired yesterday (18.06.07), William’s younger brother Harry admitted he was worried the obsession would continue.
The 22-year-old royal said: ‘I can’t see it ending really. People will always have a fascination about her.’ William and Harry were just 15 and 12 respectively when their beloved mother tragically died and hit back at claims they didn’t show enough emotion.
Harry said: ‘If we don’t feel comfortable pouring our eyes out in front of thousands of people, that is our problem.’ He added: ‘I think we’re both very grateful that each of us were there, you know, sort of as a shoulder to cry on if we needed to.’ William also revealed how upset his late mother was when somebody said she had cellulite.
He said: ‘Someone said she had cellulite or something like that. As a woman in the public eye, she tried so hard and was so glamorous, always in the gym.
‘For any woman, I imagine, it’s just outrageous that these people sit behind their desks and comment on it. There were many times we just sort of had to cheer her up and tell her she was the best thing ever.’

The hip-hop star will take part in a dinner benefit for the Sarah Ferguson Foundation at New York’s Cipriani Wall Street restaurant on Wednesday (20.06.07).
The duchess set up her foundation to improve the lives of families and children around the world last year and proceeds from this week’s event will go to UNICEF (The United Nation Children’s Fund).
50 Cent’s performance is all part of this year’s seven-date Cipriani Wall Street Concert Series.
Sarah - who has two daughters with ex-husband Britain’s Prince Andrew - personally approached Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie to perform one of the shows on May 17.
The duchess, who is commonly known as Fergie, was intrigued when the singer named her first solo album ‘The Dutchess’ and filmed a video in London sporting a tiara as a cheeky reference to their shared nickname. Other stars still scheduled to perform in the charity series include Annie Lennox and opera singer Andrea Bocelli.
