CINEMA QUEUE LEADS TO DESTRUCTION
Malaysian moviegoers rioted cinemas in the capital Kuala Lumpur on Thursday (14Jun) after unexpected delays and cancellations of SIVAJI: THE BOSS, a highly-anticipated Tamil film.
Police had to control hundreds of fans demanding refunds and travelling compensation after technical difficulties prevented the film’s showing.
One cinema had to close for repairs after a mob set fire to part of the theatre, as well as shattered lighting and sound equipment in the lobby, according to a receptionist.
Several were arrested after a cinema manager was left with a head injury after being attacked by rioters.
