SEAN STEWART IS ENGAGED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:14 pm

Rocker ROD STEWART’s son SEAN has asked girlfriend CALEIGH PETERS to marry him.
Sean, 26, proposed to his latest love - the adopted daughter of movie producer Jon Peters - after realising the 18-year-old was with him for much more than his celebrity status.
He says, "I’m engaged. I have found one girl who made me feel a certain way inside, so I proposed.
"A lot of girls over the years have been after me because of who I am, who my dad is, because the family has money. But my girlfriend doesn’t care about that because she comes from the same sort of background and money that I come from." But Sean, who was the only one of Rod’s children not to attend his Saturday (16Jun07) wedding to Penny Lancaster, is in no rush to set a date for his own big day.
He adds, "We’ll see how it goes." Sean was recently charged with assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism following an April (07) incident in which he is accused of attacking two people who were sitting in a car. The reality TV star and his friends were denied entry to a Hollywood Hills party and it is alleged they threw rocks and hurled trash at guests as they left the bash.

IRAN SLAMS RUSHDIE’S KNIGHTHOOD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:08 pm

LATEST: Celebrated author SALMAN RUSHDIE’s knighthood has been condemned by the country that issued a fatwa against him in 1989.
The writer was feted in British monarch QUEEN ELIZABETH II’s Honours List last week (ends15Jun07) but the accolade has been slammed by Iran as "a blatant example of the anti-Islamism of senior British officials".
The country took offence to Rushdie’s Muslim references in controversial 1988 work The Satanic Verses, and put a bounty on his head a year later.
Now Iran’s Foreign Ministry has expressed astonishment the novelist has been celebrated for his alleged blasphemy.
Spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini says, "Giving a medal to someone who is among the most detested figures in the Islamic community is… a blatant example of the anti-Islamism of senior British officials.
"The measure that has taken place for paying tribute to this apostate and detested figure will definitely put British statesmen and officials at odds with Islamic societies, the emotions and sentiments of which have again been provoked."

But John Travolta, who will play roguish J.R. Ewing in the film, refuses to let the project die.
He says, "I’m meeting with a director I won’t name and I think they (producers) want to start in the New Year." A month ago (May07), Wilson, who is slated to play Ewing’s brother Bobby in the film, said, "I think it was the big budget and the cast that complicated matters. It just got too complicated. If they could get it up and running again, great, but it seems to have run its course for the moment."
