Denmark’s Princes Nikolai and Felix have enjoyed a day out at the circus with their divorced parents Prince Joachim and Alexandra. Joachim and his former wife, now known as the Countess of Frederiksborg, were happy to reunite to take their young sons to Mogeltonder’s Arena Circus.
Attending the spectacle, near Joachim’s residence at Shackenborg Manor in southern Jutland, is a long-standing tradition for the family.
Nikolai, eight, and Felix, who turns five in July, arrived at the event hand-in-hand with their parents, and happily munched on candyfloss from their ring-side seats. After watching the show, the brothers had a go on a big slide and fed animals in a kiddies’ farm enclosure. Prince Joachim, 38, married Alexandra in November 1995. They announced their separation in 2004, two years after Felix’s birth, and their divorced was finalised the following April.
Hong-born former princess Alexandra, 42, lost her royal title when she married her photographer lover Martin Jorgensen, 28, in March.
