JACKSON EYES LONG KISS GOODNIGHT SEQUEL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:05 pm

Actor SAMUEL L. JACKSON is in talks to reprise his role as private investigator Mitch Hennessy in a long-awaited sequel to The Long Kiss Goodnight.
Jackson starred alongside Geena Davis in the 1996 action thriller about Samantha, an amnesiac former CIA assassin on a quest to find out who she really is.
The Pulp Fiction star admits he and Davis’ ex-husband Renny Harlin - who directed the movie - had been talking about a follow-up.
Jackson tells Moviehole.net, "Actually, we’re thinking, you know, the little girl (Samantha’s daughter, Caitlin) is grown up now and possibly got some skills passed onto her by her mom.
"Her mom gets killed and we want to find out who did it.
"Mitch is one of my favourite characters. I mean, every time I pass The Long Kiss Goodnight (on TV), I stop and watch it. If it’s on, I stop, I watch it."

SHAR JACKSON: ‘BRITNEY THINK SHE’S FINE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:05 pm

BRITNEY SPEARS’ former love rival SHAR JACKSON is adamant the troubled pop princess won’t be back to rehab anytime soon, because the singer "doesn’t think she has a problem".
Spears claims her management and family persuaded her to check into the Promises rehabilitation center in Malibu, California in February (07) after months of hard-partying and unusual behaviour, which culminated in the singer shaving her head and attacking a paparazzo’s van with an umbrella.
Following her release in March (07), Spears is adamant she neither has a drink problem nor is suffering from post-partum depression, as some media outlets have suggested.
Since leaving Promises, Spears has been attending dance lessons again to get back in shape for her musical comeback, as well as frequenting nightclubs again.
Former Moesha star Jackson, who is in contact with Spears’ two young sons and mother Lynne, says the Toxic star isn’t ready to seek outside help right now.
She says, "That’s her journey and nothing will change until she wants it to.
She doesn’t think she has a problem so I don’t see her changing anytime soon in my personal opinion. So it is what it is." Yesterday (13Jun07), Jackson was forced to deny claims she was pregnant with Spears’ estranged husband Kevin Federline’s child. The pair already have two children together.

LEACHMAN CHALLENGES BROOKS TO DUEL TO WIN STAGE ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:56 pm

Veteran actress CLORIS LEACHMAN has challenged theatre star MEL BROOKS to a fight so she can prove she is healthy enough for a role in his forthcoming Broadway musical Young Frankenstein.
Leachman, 81, was devastated to learn she had been snubbed for the part of Frau Blucher, Dr. Frankenstein’s household servant - a role she originally played in the 1974 movie version - despite having reportedly breezed through the audition process.
Theatre insiders told New York Post’s gossip column, Page Six, "(Leachman had) a wonderful audition… She was involved in a workshop recently and everyone loved her… but it was obvious she was too old." And Brooks, 80, fears the Broadway musical would be too strenuous for the star.
He tells former industry columnist Army Archerd, "We’re afraid the show might stop her - it could kill her… We don’t want her to die on stage." But Leachman’s representative Steve Rohr says, "Cloris challenges Mel to three rounds in the ring, and we’ll see who’s left standing."

After 10 years of making movies and going better than I ever could have imagined, I sort of had to ask myself: ‘What am I supposed to do with all of this success that I have had?" "Am I just going to keep making movie after movie and be concerned with all of that ‘Are you up, are you down, are you hot, are you not?’, and I don’t really care.
"What I really care about is the remarkable experience of being able to be a part of bringing people together."

Bunch of Wang-ers

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:55 pm

The Chinese government says the country is running out of surnames.
The country hosts 93 million people with the surname Wang, and 92 million called Li - and it is becoming confusing.
Officials are now considering allowing babies to be registered with both parent’s surnames.
For example, a baby whose father’s surname is Zhou and mother’s Zhu, could be called Zhou, Zhu, ZhouZhu or ZhuZhou.
However, one critic noted the system could get even more confusing.
He said: "When a ZhuZou marries a "WangLi", does the child become "ZhuZhouWangLi?"

Blind man’s bluff

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:55 pm

A blind Chinese man was hired to build a bridge which later collapsed.
The blind contractor altered blueprints without getting them checked by a professional, causing the crossing to fall apart, injuring 12 people.
Two officials who oversaw the project have been jailed.
Head of the local authority Huang Wenge and colleague Xia Jianzhong have been sentenced to 18 months and one year respectively.
The court ruling said: "When they knew the bridge was being built by a blind contractor, they did not stop it.
"After the blind contractor changed the blueprint, he carried out the work only using a roughly drawn draft of the plan, which caused the bridge to collapse."

Water Boy

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:55 pm

A US student discovered his school’s water fountains were less hygienic than the toilets.
Oregon Coast Technology School was forced to install new fountains after 13-year-old Kyleray Katherman’s shock find.
The boy decided to test the water system after pupils were banned from taking bottled water into class.
Kyleray compared the bacteria content of the water from four fountains with that from one school toilet. The results showed the fountain water to be packed with bacteria, with the toilet water comparatively clean.
School principal Scott Edmondson said: "You’d be surprised how clean the water is in a toilet."
