WHITE SLAMS AMERICAN ANTI-IMMIGRATION EFFORTS
THE WHITE STRIPES frontman JACK WHITE has slammed the U.S. government’s efforts to fight immigration, comparing their controversial methods to post-war Germany.
White compares America’s newest idea to keep illegal immigrants from crossing the Mexican border to Germany, which was divided into two parts until the Berlin Wall came down in 1989.
He says, "We’re all immigrants here, that’s what makes this country interesting. Even the American Indians came from somewhere else originally.
"Now they’re gonna put up this huge wall to keep the Mexicans out? We all celebrated them tearing down the Berlin Wall, and now we’re going to build another one in our own country."
