Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, is set to be immortalised as a wax dummy.
London’s famous Madame Tussauds museum had previously decided against adding a Camilla exhibit to their collection due to public hostility towards her. But dramatic changes in public opinion means the popular tourist attraction will now welcome Camilla into the world of wax. Ben Lovett, a Madame Tussauds spokesman, said: ‘We carry out surveys when our guests are leaving and large numbers of them have asked for her. In the last year we have seen a growing number of requests. Maybe it does signal a change in the public mood towards her and that she has become accepted by the wider public.
‘I know the Duchess of Cornwall is as delighted as we are and I know she is looking forward to it.’ Camilla, who turns 60 this year, will now join her husband Prince Charles on display. Tussauds unveiled a new revised model of Charles last month. In keeping with Charles’ keen environmental philosophies, the waxwork was made from entirely recycled materials.
