HECHE EX GRANTED CUSTODY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:47 pm

LATEST: Actress ANNE HECHE has lost primary physical custody of her five-year-old son HOMER in a court battle with her estranged husband COLEY LAFFOON.
A Los Angeles Superior Court Judge awarded videographer Laffoon custody of their child and an unspecified amount of child support yesterday (11Jun07).
The Six Days Seven Nights star, 38, will be allowed to visit Homer on alternate weekends.
Laffoon sought primary physical custody of Homer because he claimed his estranged wife had shown "bizarre and delusional behaviour" and had "poor parenting skills".
He cited her 2001 autobiography Call Me Crazy as evidence of her mental instability.
He also filed for the couple to share joint legal custody of Homer.
In response, Heche alleged Laffoon spent time watching porn and gambling when he should be looking after their child.
Laffoon filed for divorce from Heche in February (07) after five years of marriage and a month after the actress’ romance with her Men In Trees co-star James Tupper went public.

SIMPSON SLAMS PRESS OVER HILTON COVERAGE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:35 pm

Former American football star O.J. SIMPSON has criticised the media for its coverage of PARIS HILTON’s prison sentence.
The socialite was readmitted to jail on Friday (08Jun07) at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, California to finish the 45-day sentence she began earlier this month (Jun07) - after a judge reversed the decision to allow her to complete the sentence under house arrest.
But Simpson, who in 1995 was acquitted of the murders of his former wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman, believes the media circus surrounding Hilton’s jail sentence was over the top.
He says, "When Paris Hilton was going to jail last week, more people knew about that than knew that we were sending people into space that day.
"It has replaced what is real news. There was always a place for it, but it was (gossip writer) Rona Barrett. Now it is the equivalent of (late, high-brow journalist) Edward R. Murrow reporting it today."

"There’s a photograph of it somewhere. I was 12 years old.
"My mother said, ‘His name is John,’ - which is also the Pope’s name obviously - and the Pope hugged me. I was shocked. I didn’t hug him back because I didn’t know you were allowed to.

The new coroner hearing the inquests into the deaths of Britain’s Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed has formally taken up the post.

Posted in: Royal News — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:58 pm

Lord Justice Scott Baker, one of the country’s most senior judges, has taken over on the high-profile case from Baroness Elizabeth Butler-Sloss, who quit in April.
Lady Butler-Sloss - who was appointed after the previous royal coroner, Michael Burgess quit - resigned from the role as she claimed she didn’t have the experience of juries to handle the case.
Lord Justice Baker will oversee his first preliminary hearing at London’s High Court tomorrow (13.06.07).
His appointment is the third in less than a year causing people to claim it’s made a mockery of the inquest.
The inquest, which was opened and adjourned in 2004, has yet to start in full nearly 10 years after Diana and Dodi were killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997. Diana’s sons, Princes William and Harry, have previously called for a swift resolution as they prepare to mark the 10th anniversary of their mother’s death. Dodi’s father, Mohammad, has always insisted the pair were murdered in a plot engineered by the British Royal Family and has tirelessly campaigned for an inquest to prove his theory.
After the accident, Lord Stevens’ three-year investigation found no evidence of a murder plot and ruled that the pair were killed by accident by their drunk driver Henri Paul.

Britain’s Princess Anne spurned the help of a man who rushed to her aid when she took a tumble during an official visit yesterday (11.06.07).

Posted in: Royal News — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:58 pm

Britain’s Princess Anne spurned the help of a man who rushed to her aid when she took a tumble during an official visit yesterday (11.06.07). Anne, 56, was greeting crowds on the island of Guernsey in the Channel Isles when she lost her footing on an uneven path and toppled backwards onto her bottom. But the princess shook off the efforts of the island’s bailiff, Geoffrey Rowland, who tired to help her up, insisting she could manage by herself. As Rowland - who is in charge of the island’s legal and political system - swooped down to offer his support, Anne snapped: ‘No, don’t do that, thank you. Grabbing me round my (inaudible) won’t help. I’m perfectly capable of getting up myself.’ The princess, who was not injured in the fall, quickly got back on her feet and soon appeared to have recovered from the shock. Rowland later released a statement saying: ‘The Princess Royal slipped at the top of Smith Street, I offered her my assistance but no damage was done. She was mildly shaken, but swiftly recovered and was determined to continue with the walk through St Peter Port. She was soon acknowledging bystanders in her usual relaxed and engaging way.’ Anne later opened a civil hall and toured an arts centre, before moving on to the neighbouring island of Sark.
