Rapper T.I. has reignited his feud with Ludacris, insisting he deserved to win the 2007 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album more than the Stand Up star.
The pair fell out in 2004 after T.I. took offence to a scene in one of Ludacris’ music videos, in which a man wearing a top similar to that of the rapper’s Trap Muzik record label is seen getting beaten up.
Ludacris denied there was a link between the two, but T.I. took personal offence and launched a stinging attack on him. The pair were reported to have settled their differences, but Ludacris is likely to be less than pleased with T.I.’s new comments.
T.I.’s latest album King lost out to Ludacris’ Release Therapy at the event earlier this year (07), but the rapper - real name Clifford Harris Jr. believes he should have been the rightful winner of the coveted prize.
He says, "I had the album of the year whether I won a grammy for it or not. I think numbers show that. I think that if you go out to anybody on the streets and ask them, they’ll tell you.
"I think that it’s a no-brainer. You ask him (Ludacris), he’ll probably tell you the same thing. Come on, man, who in hip-hop doesn’t know that? "If you a supporter of hip-hop, who doesn’t know that King is the only platinum album that dropped last year… that was platinum by the time the new-year’s bell rung? At 12:01, January 1, 2007, who had the hottest album of the year? I think it’s unanimous."
