Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:11 pm

PARIS HILTON’s pop career has suffered another blow - just days after she was dropped by her record label she faces a plagiarism suit over her debut single STARS ARE BLIND.

BONO PRAISES BUSH FOR AFRICAN AIDS PLEDGE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:10 pm

Crusading rocker BONO has lavished praise on American President George W. Bush for pledging $30 million (£15 million) toward the fight against AIDS in Africa.
The U2 singer is delighted by the decision to divert government funds towards combating the crisis in the poverty-stricken continent.
He says, "Some of my activist friends will be jumping on one leg rather than jumping on two because it’s never enough.
"But I’m standing up and I’m applauding the president and congress." Bono did, however, acknowledge that Bush’s programme requires up to a third of the funds to be spent on abstinence education instead of safe sex campaigns.
He adds, "Condoms are a part of the solution; they just are."

STALLONE PANICKED AS HE GOT FAT FOR ROCKY SEQUEL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:08 pm

SYLVESTER STALLONE panicked when he quit working out to play a chubby ROCKY BALBOA in the ROCKY sequel - because he got so fat so fast he struggled to walk up the stairs.
Studio executives advised the star to give up his fierce workout regime as he prepared to reprise his movie boxing hero - because they feared he wouldn’t be believable as an ageing fighter.
But Stallone was shocked when he started piling on the pounds and immediately returned to the gym.
He says, "I could hardly walk up the stairs, that’s how fat I was. So I did everything I could to get in decent shape.
"I lived in the gym, I sucked down protein shakes, saunas, sweat."

MORE INCRIMINATING LOHAN PICTURES ARE PUBLISHED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:08 pm

Troubled star LINDSAY LOHAN is facing further press embarrassment today (03Jun07) with the publication of photos showing her holding a knife to a pal’s throat.
Last month (May07) Lohan was reportedly left "inconsolable" when a tape leaked to British newspaper The News of The World appearing to show the actress snorting cocaine with friends in a Los Angeles club bathroom.
Now the same newspaper has printed disturbing photos of the star - currently in rehab - at a house party four months ago (Mar07). In some shots she slides a knife towards a friend’s neck, before holding the point towards her own mouth in others.
Last week (30May07) some of the actress’ close pals approached America’s Star magazine with tales of her increasingly bizarre behaviour, and fears she may be harbouring suicidal thoughts.

STUBBS DEFENDS HUSBAND

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:05 pm

British actress IMOGEN STUBBS has leaped to the defence of her director husband SIR TREVOR NUNN after critics panned him for delaying a press night for his Royal Shakespeare Company production of KING LEAR.
Nunn waited nine weeks before allowing journalists to see the show in Stratford-upon-Avon on Thursday (31May07). The original press night was abandoned when one of the lead actors was hospitalised following a road accident.
Nunn was branded a "fool" for the delay, but his Sense and Sensibility actress wife insists the reports were totally undeserved.
Stubbs says, "Incensed journalists up and down the country cried ‘outrage’ and there were headlines such as ‘Nunn on the run’.
"My husband hasn’t uttered a syllable in print and has done nothing to be worthy of such bile. These things hurt." Nunn says the decision to hold off on the press night for King Lear was made by the RSC’s artistic director, Michael Boyd.

KNOXVILLE SUED OVER PENIS STUNT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:04 pm

JACKASS prankster JOHNNY KNOXVILLE is facing legal action for allegedly convincing an actor to place his manhood in a mousetrap during a radio show.
Perry Caravello says he endured painful injuries during the stunt last September (06) and has yet to receive the $10 million (£5 million) Knoxville, talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and radio star Adam Corolla allegedly promised him for taking part.
He is also furious the prank was filmed without his permission and later posted on the internet, according to legal papers filed in Los Angeles alleging fraud and negligence.
The document reads, "Caravello was promised by Johnny Knoxville that he would be paid $10 million if he placed his penis in a mousetrap.
"He agreed to do so and, much to his emotional and physical harm, was severely injured when the trap literally went on his manhood.
"He had to seek medical assistance for injuries, pain and humiliation.
Caravello is also demanding payment from Kimmel for the 2003 TV comedy movie Windy City Heat that he appeared in and was promoting on the radio show.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:02 pm

Rocker COURTNEY LOVE made a triumphant return to performing on Friday night (01Jun07) when she teamed up with her producer LINDA PERRY on stage in Los Angeles.
The former Hole singer played a secret show at The House of Blues, performing four songs from her upcoming album Nobody’s Daughter.

She introduced the star as a promising newcomer, joking, "She’s got a cool name and a rock star thing going." Singer/songwriter James Blunt, who has also worked with Perry, watched the show from the balcony.
Love recently revealed her desperation to return to performing to Spinner magazine, saying, "I’ve been writing this record since I’ve been sober almost two years now. I feel like a f**king caged panther. I just want to get out and rock. I’m just so antsy about it. I can’t eat, I can’t sleep - I need to play."
