Hollywood actor DAVID HASSELHOFF has dismissed allegations made by his ex-wife PAMELA BACH that he has started drinking again.
The Baywatch star was unable to attend a custody hearing in Los Angeles yesterday (01Jun07) because his lead attorney was taken ill - the hearing has been postponed until Monday (04Jun07).
Although the court case didn’t happen, Bach’s lawyer Debra Opri claimed, "We have our suspicions he has fallen off the wagon again." Hasselhoff’s lawyer Marci Levine counters, "He’s been testing several times a week - it’s something he wanted to do. He tested clean at 7:30 this morning." Last month (May07), Hasselhoff won back the right to visit his two children with Bach, just weeks after a video of the drunken actor hurling expletives to his teenage daughter was leaked.

Rocker AVRIL LAVIGNE is so ambitious she is prepared to lie to get what she wants.
The Sk8er Boi star has no qualms with pushing her luck in order to have things go her way.

RUMER WILLIS, the eldest daughter of BRUCE WILLIS and DEMI MOORE, empathises with the plight of PARIS HILTON as the socialite gets ready to begin her 23-day jail term.
Hilton has to report to Los Angeles’ Century Regional Detention Center by 5 June (07) to start serving her sentence for violating her probation following a 2006 drink-driving arrest.
And Rumer, 18, believes Hilton’s predicament is the result of growing up in the public eye.
She tells website People.com, "I haven’t talked to her, but I wish her the best. I think there a lot of people that are supporting her.
"I think it’s definitely hard growing up in L.A. with all of the things that you have to deal with, and being so young. I think sometimes people don’t realise the amount of pressure that can come."

Magician CRISS ANGEL has dismissed reports he is dating CAMERON DIAZ - because the actress is way out of his league.
Angel and Diaz enjoyed a night out in Las Vegas together last month (May07), prompting speculating the pair were romantically involved.

The Three’s Company star lost her $3 million (GBP1.5 million) Malibu, California house when it was destroyed by a wild fire in January (07).
And the 60-year-old was "touched" when pals including Farrah Fawcett, who is battling cancer, and Jane Seymour lent their support.
She says, "First call was Farrah Fawcett, who was going through hell - she called to see if I was OK. Then Rosie O’Donnell called, then Ellen DeGeneres called to see if I was OK.
"And then Jane Seymour came by with sandwiches while I was going through the rubble of the trash of our house. She was down on the beach one morning.
"I was just so touched, so moved."

US comedian TRACY MORGAN has spoken for the first time about his shame after being ordered to wear an ankle bracelet detecting alcohol consumption following two counts of drink-driving.
In April (07), a Los Angeles judge told Morgan to wear the bracelet and to complete five days community service after a November 2006 driving under the influence offence violated a previous drink-driving conviction relating to a December 2005 incident.
Morgan has now quit alcohol and wants it to be known that he "isn’t cool".
He says, "It happened. Unfortunately, it happened. I’m not perfect. I’m like anyone else.
"Driving under the influence isn’t cool. I have kids and I don’t want anyone to get the wrong message about that.
"It’s something I’ve resolved in my life. Things got a little bumpy and it was taken care of. And I feel great about it and feel good in my sobriety." Morgan adds, "I don’t know about tomorrow, but I know that today I don’t want a drink."

Actor DWAYNE ‘THE ROCK’ JOHNSON has separated from his wife of 10 years.
The Scorpion King star, 35, and Dany Johnson, who have a five-year-old daughter, Simone, have parted amicably after 17 years together.
The couple, in a statement released to website People.com, says, "While certain aspects of our relationship have changed, we are both vitally important to each other’s lives.
"We will continue to advance and manage our business interests, our philanthropic efforts and most importantly the raising of our child together, as a loving team.
"We’ve been fortunate enough to spend the last 17 years together as a couple and look forward to spending the rest our lives together as best friends and business partners."

Rocker JACK WHITE has ended months of speculation by confirming he is playing ELVIS PRESLEY in upcoming comedy WALK HARD.
The White Stripes frontman will play The King alongside Jenna Fischer and John C. Reilly in the new movie, due out next year (08).
He says, "It’s my favourite era of Elvis, around ‘56, and when John sent me the script I laughed out loud the whole way through."

Actor STEPHEN BALDWIN has been rushed to hospital to receive treatment for a broken shoulder and rib after being thrown off a bucking bull while filming a reality TV show in Texas.
The 41-year-old Usual Suspects star was shooting Ty Murray’s Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge when the accident happened.
Baldwin has been discharged from hospital and is now back on set wearing a sling, reports website TMZ.com.
He will appear alongside Vanilla Ice and Leif Garrett when Ty Murray’s Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge airs on U.S. television in August (07).

Former THE SUPREMES singer MARY WILSON is one of many veteran musicians celebrating after officials in Las Vegas, Nevada passed a new law ordering groups with less than one original band member to call themselves tribute acts.
Wilson and several other musicians have long lobbied for the law - she has to date sued five groups performing under the Supremes name.
Under the new legislation, if a band falsely advertises itself without at least one member historically linked with the original group, it will be considered a deceptive trading practice.
Maxine Porter, the manager of Drifters star Bill Pinkey, hopes the law will be extended to at least 20 other U.S. states by the end of 2007.
She says, "In a town like Las Vegas, where you have a constant flow of tourists, this is a place where people expect to have authenticity.
"You don’t need to see The Drifters advertised on three different marquees." The Platter’s Sonny Turner adds, "Nevada is the entertainment capital of the world, so this was one of our major goals."

The Icky Thump rocker is rarely seen in the tabloids and credits his relative anonymity to his quiet family life in Nashville, Tennessee.
He says, "Being photographed on the street is an invasion of privacy. It’s tough.
"But we have been really lucky in that sense. It has a lot to do with the fact that Meg (White, drummer) and I don’t really walk down the red carpet and go to a lot of L.A. parties to be seen, which I think is sort of false celebrity.
"I strongly believe that if you’re famous it should be because you did something, and the fame is the side-effect of accomplishment.
"In this day and age nobody seems to be looking at it that way anymore."

Soul legend PATTI LaBELLE turned down the chance to star in STEVEN SPIELBERG’s THE COLOR PURPLE - because she thought the film would be too racy.
The Lady Marmalade singer was approached to play blues singer Shug Avery in the classic 1985 film, but was turned off by the fact she’d have to perform a same-sex kiss during a nude scene and she passed. The role went to Margaret Avery.
But, having seen the film, which is now among her favourites, the singer fears she missed a great opportunity to show off her acting skills.
LaBelle says, "I told Steven Spielberg I couldn’t be in his film… I wasn’t kissing a woman. I regret it because it was just acting.
"She (Shug) was in the tub, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought. So after I saw the movie, I said, ‘Maybe I shouldn’t have gotten so nervous about doing something that’s acting.’ "I should have shut up and just done the screen test and maybe I would have been Shug Avery."

LATEST: American Idol judge PAULA ABDUL has denied she is suffering from Addison’s, despite discussing the adrenal disease on a leaked conference call with her management.
In a tape obtained by the New York Post, Abdul outlines her health problems and talks about Addison’s disease, a disorder that causes irritability, chronic fatigue and muscle weakness.
However, the 44-year-old insists she is just exceptionally tired.
Abdul tells People.com, "I haven’t been diagnosed with it. I’m just exhausted. Sometimes I have really low blood sugar levels. It’s all because I work very hard, that’s it.
"When you work as hard as I do, you become exhausted. That’s what happens.
I’m working on five different projects right now. And now people are saying I have Addison’s. I’m tired." Earlier today (01Jun07), Abdul blasted the "illegal" and "unethical" leaking of the conference call tape, which she feels has violated her privacy.

UGLY BETTY star BECKI NEWTON met her husband of two years when the couple walked past each other on a New York City subway platform.
The 28-year-old spotted fellow actor Chris Diamantopoulos during rush hour.
She says, "We actually met in Times Square on the subway platform.
"I was walking one way… and he was walking the other way. So we walked by each other and we had that moment where we looked at each other. And I started laughing because he was cute and he busted me checking him out.
"I kept walking and 30 seconds later felt a little tap on my shoulder (and he said), ‘Excuse me, I think I might be lost.’ I said, ‘Mmm, I don’t think you are.’ He said, ‘Maybe you’re lost?’ I said, ‘No.’ And he said, ‘This area’s very confusing, maybe we should just figure this out together.’" After riding the subway together, Diamantopoulos asked Newton if she wanted to see him onstage in The Full Monty.
She recalls, "He said, ‘I don’t want to be too forward but maybe you’d like to come see me naked on Broadway sometime.’ So I did and now we’re married."

American comedienne SARAH SILVERMAN is ashamed of her "pathetic" behaviour when she came face-to-face with Hollywood superstar ANGELINA JOLIE recently.
The 36-year-old, who is hosting the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday (03Jun07), was shooting the Sarah Silverman Program when she found out Jolie was also filming on the studio lot.
Silverman says, "Angelina Jolie was shooting a commercial for Japan right next door to us. And we all decided to write outside that day.
"She came over and said hi and said she watches the she show. She’s so strikingly beautiful.
"None of us could work the rest of the day until we knew she was gone. It was so pathetic."

Author MARK HARRIS has died of complications relating to Alzheimer’s Disease.
He was 84.
Harris passed away at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California on Wednesday (30May07).
The author of 13 novels and five non-fiction books, Harris is best known for his acclaimed 1956 baseball novel Bang The Drum Slowly, which he adapted for the 1973 movie of the same name starring Robert De Niro and Michael Moriarty.
Harris is survived by his wife of 61 years, two sons, a daughter, a sister and three grandchildren.
