AUTHOR MARK HARRIS DIES

Author MARK HARRIS has died of complications relating to Alzheimer’s Disease.
He was 84.
Harris passed away at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California on Wednesday (30May07).
The author of 13 novels and five non-fiction books, Harris is best known for his acclaimed 1956 baseball novel Bang The Drum Slowly, which he adapted for the 1973 movie of the same name starring Robert De Niro and Michael Moriarty.
Harris is survived by his wife of 61 years, two sons, a daughter, a sister and three grandchildren.
