HILTON TO TEACH BUSINESS TO BUDDING ENTREPRENEURS?

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:14 pm

PARIS HILTON is reportedly set to pass on her business tips to budding entrepreneurs, after an educational institute offered her $1 million (£500,000) for the privilege.
The Simple Life star - who was released from a California jail on Tuesday (26Jun07) after serving 23-days behind bars for violating her probation - has set up several business ventures of her own under the names Paris Hilton Enterprises, Paris Hilton Entertainment, and Heiress Records.
Some of her deals include designing a collection of purses for Japanese fashion label Samantha Thavasa and releasing her own-branded perfume with Parlux Fragrances for both men and women.
But Hilton could soon add teaching to her growing list of accomplishments, if adult educational school The Learning Annex in New York has its way.
The institute’s president Bill Zanker tells the New York Post, "We just sent over the offer to her this morning, and I think there’s a good chance she’d do it. She’s a brilliant entrepreneur. I believe she can offer her knowledge and give back to other entrepreneurs. She’s obviously brilliant, and my students would love her.
"She’s a businessman who has made this persona. We have a lot of people in small business, and where they need the most help is getting branded. Who is better at branding than Paris Hilton?"

BECKHAM & BUSH SIGN UP FOR FOOTBALL SUMMIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:11 pm

Soccer superstar DAVID BECKHAM and American football hero REGGIE BUSH have swapped sports for a new Adidas campaign.
Beckham tried on Bush’s New Orleans Saints helmet and jersey while Bush showed off his soccer skills for the sporting showdown, which took place recently in Madrid, Spain - where England star Beckham recently ended his stint with champions Real Madrid.
The meeting came as Beckham was preparing for his new life in America, where he’ll play for Major League Soccer team Los Angeles Galaxy.
And swapping sports with Heisman Trophy-winning running back Bush for the afternoon has given Beckham a new-found interest in his new pal’s game.
The soccer star says, "I’ve never been to an American football game…
Everyone - the fans, the players - seems so passionate about it. I’m definitely going to get myself to some games." During the switched sports showdown, Bush attempted to bend it like Beckham and score a goal past his new pal, while the England hero tried to kick a record-breaking field goal.
The Adidas-organised meeting of sporting giants features online at www.FutbolMeetsFootball.com. The sporting firm sponsors both superstars.
Beckham begins his tenure with the Galaxy next month (Jul07), while Bush’s Saints are among the favourites to land a Super Bowl berth next year (08).

MOORE CONFUSED BY ‘CONTROVERSIAL’ LABEL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:08 pm

Filmmaker MICHAEL MOORE is confused by critics who label him "controversial", because he doesn’t see why people are upset with his documentary making.
Moore has made a name for himself with hard-hitting documentaries like 2002’s Bowling For Columbine, 2004’s Fahrenheit 9/11 and his latest film, Sicko, which follows a group of sick 9/11 rescue workers seeking free medical care in Cuba.
But he insists he is only asking the same questions as other members of the U.S. public, who don’t have the platform to air their concerns, and claims he is still a patriotic American citizen, despite what others may think.
When asked by talkshow host Larry King if he has always been controversial, Moore says, "No. You know, it’s an odd term. I’ve never understood why…
"What have I done? I’ve made three or four documentaries. The first one (1989’s Roger & Me), I was upset that 30,000 people had been laid off from my hometown, so I thought I’d stand up for them and make a film about them. Then I made a film called Bowling For Columbine because I thought we shouldn’t have any more school shootings. And then I made Fahrenheit 9/11 because I took a wild guess that maybe we were going to war for the wrong reasons, and it wasn’t a good idea.
"Those are my crimes, Larry. And before that, when you say have I always been this way? I mean as a kid I was an Eagle Scout, am an Eagle Scout. I went to the seminary to be a Catholic priest. I lived the all American boy life. I come from a family of (patriots). My dad was in the Marines. He was in the South Pacific, World War II. And I’ve always loved this country and have always felt that one of the best things you can do as a patriotic American is to not be afraid to ask questions and to demand answers of those in power."

BENOIT’S FATHER BAFFLED BY WRESTLER’S SUICIDE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:05 pm

LATEST: The father of CHRIS BENOIT has broken his silence over the wrestler’s death, insisting he "cannot understand" why his son would murder his family and then commit suicide.
Detectives believe 40-year-old former World Heavyweight Champion asphyxiated his wife Nancy and seven-year-old son Daniel last Friday (22Jun07) and Saturday (23Jun07) respectively, before hanging himself on Sunday (24Jun07).
Anabolic steroids were found at the wrestler’s home - the scene of the murders - suggesting the drugs played a role in the family’s deaths.
But Michael Benoit is baffled by his son’s apparent actions and hopes the results of the toxicology tests will go some way help them understand why the 40-year-old behaved the way he did.
He says, "We have no understanding of why it happened," Michael Benoit told the Associated Press by phone from his home in Alberta, Canada. "We need some time to gather our thoughts and wait and see.
"There’s still more information that’s going to come out from toxicology tests that will give us some understanding of why this happened."

MOORE: ‘DEATHS MADE SICKO HARDEST FILM TO MAKE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:05 pm

Director MICHAEL MOORE found making his new documentary SICKO one of the hardest movies to make - because some of the castmembers died before filming on the project wrapped.
Sicko chronicles the struggles of everyday Americans as they attempt to get adequate healthcare, and Moore sparked controversy in the film by accompanying a group of sick 9/11 rescue workers to Cuba, where they were hoping to receive free treatments for their ailments.
But the 53-year-old was undeterred by the tragic deaths, and tried to lighten the mood of the documentary by using humour.
He tells U.S. talkshow host Larry King, "It was (a hard movie to make). It was because we dealt with a lot of people who were sick and dying. Some died while we were making the film. So that’s why I thought it was very important that there be a - a certain amount of comedy and humour in the film to relieve the… disparage." Moore himself is currently under investigation by U.S. government officials, who claim he broke federal trade laws to make parts of the hard-hitting new film in Cuba.

The new Interview spread features rare archive shots of the former Beatle, taken by his late wife, while daughter Mary captured the 65-year-old as he is today.
In the accompanying article with Interview editor Ingrid Sischy, McCartney recalls his late wife’s special photographic gift.
He says, "She was like no other photographer I’ve ever encountered..
. Linda would just sit around and talk to you
. It wouldn’t be like a session.
"She’s just sit down, raise her camera, and go, `Click.’" McCartney credits his late wife with giving the Beatles a more natural look: "The other photographers weren’t of our generation, so we did what they told us: `Good boys
. Sit There
. Put these spectacles on.’ There are so many pictures of us with spectacles and tweed jackets.
"Then along comes Linda, and she was just like a mate..
. Her sessions were conversations interspersed with clicks
. And those clicks were always at the right moment." Ironically, the shots that McCartney’s daughter Mary took for the shoot were at the house where she was born
