HARRIS STEERS CLEAR OF REVIEWS 30 YEARS LATER
Veteran actor ED HARRIS refuses to read his reviews, because he still remembers the negative critical reaction to a theatre performance he gave 30 years ago.
Harris, best known for his roles in movies such as Pollock, The Rock and A History Of Violence, is returning to the Los Angeles stage in Neil LaBute play Wrecks.
But Harris will be steering clear of his reviews, following the less-than-favourable reaction to a 1977 production he appeared in.
He says, "As a rule, I don’t read reviews because it’s one person’s opinion, and while you’re in the midst of doing a play, it’s not helpful.
"There are certain things L.A. critics said of theatre I did in ‘77 that are still in my head that aren’t necessarily positive things."
