Banks suck
A German woman hid her life savings in an old vacuum cleaner bag - only to have it thrown out by her cleaner.
Margarethe Willemsen, from Hanover, didn’t trust banks, so hid £57,000 in the vacuum cleaner bag.
But the 80-year-old then hired a new cleaning lady who found the bag in a cupboard and threw it out, mistaking it for rubbish.
Willemsen said: "I thought it would be the perfect place to hide my cash but I was obviously wrong." But the pensioner was lucky enough to get her money back after she called the local rubbish collection service which sent a team of workers to the tip to search through 45 tonnes garbage to find the cash.
