The favourite dish of Britain’s late Queen Mother has been returned to the menu of one of her best-loved restaurants.

The Queen Mother would often order Eggs Drumbiko - a dish made from chopped eggs, seafood, tomatoes and mayonnaise in a sherry-flavoured jelly - when she dined at London’s Goring Hotel restaurant.
The royal was said to be such a fan of the treat she would even serve it at picnics at her Scottish home, Castle of Mey, in Caithness.
After the Queen Mother’s death in 2002 the Royal Household stopped serving the dish and unfortunately the restaurant followed suit.
However, the eatery was asked to resurrect Eggs Drumbiko for a special party to celebrate the opening of Castle of Mey’s new visitor centre, and the dish is now a permanent fixture on the menu.
A source at the hotel told Britain’s Daily Express newspaper: ‘The Queen Mother was very fond of Eggs Drumbiko. She would come in for afternoon tea with friends and ladies-in-waiting and we were very pleased to be asked to resurrect the dish.
‘Our chef, Derek Quelsh, gave it a new twist, adding lobster instead of prawns, and it is very popular. It’s our quiet little nod to the Windsors.’
