WINEHOUSE BROUGHT MARRIAGE FORWARD A DAY
LATEST: AMY WINEHOUSE brought her surprise Miami, Florida wedding forward a day after cutting through local red tape ahead of schedule.
The singer wed fiance Blake Fielder-Civil last Friday (18May07), hours before a Rolling Stone magazine photo shoot, and the couple admits they had planned to exchange vows on Saturday (19May07).
According to the publication, Winehouse and Fielder-Civil, who spent last week denying leaked wedding plans, couldn’t wait to become man and wife after getting hold of their marriage license from Miami’s City Hall.
Fielder-Civil says, "I don’t want to say it was on a whim, because that makes it sound whimsical." The groom has since revealed the couple phoned their parents immediately after the intimate civil ceremony and they are now planning a more formal wedding with friends and family when they return to their native England.
