Surprise shot
A Chinese grandmother who visited a hospital complaining of a headache was shocked to discover a bullet had been lodged in her head for 64 years.
Jin Guangying, 77, of Shuyang town, Jiangsu province, decided to get an x-ray at Shuyang Leniency Hospital to determine the cause of her head pain.
Her son, Wang Zhengbang, said: "We were surprised to learn that there was a bullet inside her head." Jin said she was shot by the invading Japanese army in 1943 during the World War II while she was delivering supplies to her father, a member of the guerrilla forces.
The chief surgeon, who performed the surgery to remove the rusty bullet, was surprised the ammunition had remained in her head for so long without causing severe health complications.
