BAYWATCH CREW ‘COVERED UP’ HASSELHOFF’S ALCOHOLISM
DAVID HASSELHOFF’s colleagues on hit TV show Baywatch tried to cover up his alcoholism, according to the actor’s ex-wife PAMELA BACH.
Hasselhoff and Bach divorced in July 2006 after 16 years of marriage, and Bach claims his drinking became so bad she had to regularly take their two daughters to stay in a hotel.
She tells American publication Us Weekly, "They knew it. They covered for him, just like I did." She adds, "There were many times during the marriage I would take the girls away from him. It would always be the Disneyland Hotel so the girls wouldn’t know why we were leaving.
"I’d say, ‘You got to stop drinking or I’m not coming home.’ He would binge for up to 10 days, then dry out. It was a cycle.
"While he couldn’t hide being drunk from me, he hid the bottles." A video of a drunken Hasselhoff hurling expletives at his teenage daughter was leaked to the press earlier this month (May07).
