ZZ TOP have been forced to pull out of their upcoming European tour so bassist DUSTY HILL can undergo hospital treatment.
Hill will seek treatment for a benign growth in his inner ear that has been affecting his hearing - but is expected to make a full recovery.
He says: "I’m looking forward to dealing with this problem and getting back out there with Billy and Frank…I’m sure we’ll put this behind us very shortly." The European tour was due to begin on 15 June (07) in Leipzig, Germany. U.S.
dates, which start in Dallas on 15 July, are not expected to be affected.

Pop star AVRIL LAVIGNE has peeled off to pose topless on the cover of a US men’s magazine.
The singer’s modesty is only covered by a quote from the star, reading "hell yeah, I’m hot" and pictures inside Blender’s June edition show the 22-year-old covered only by an open leather jacket, short skirt and fishnet stockings.
The pictures follows Lavigne’s criticism of chart rival Britney Spears for using her looks and sexuality to sell music. Lavigne said, "I’m more about a performance, she’s more about entertainment and sex, being a sex symbol and trying to look like she’s having sex."

CHRISTINA AGUILERA has been given permission to perform a concert in China following previous concerns she was "too sexy".
Officials in the capital Beijing wanted to ban the singer - famous for her sexy costumes - from performing her "racy" act to the country’s fans, but she has finally been given government approval to go-ahead with the gig.
A source says, "Not every foreign artist has the luck to win Beijing’s approval and Christina’s sexy performance was once a concern when applying to the regulators." China’s censors have previously banned the Rolling Stones from playing some of their sexually explicit songs and cancelled rapper Jay-Z’s concert, citing indecent lyrics, in 2006.
Aguilera will perform in Shanghai on 26 June.

Troubled singer BRITNEY SPEARS caused a traffic jam after she stopped by the roadside to changer her son’s diaper.
The Toxic star made an impromptu stop at a Malibu, California roadside on Sunday (13May07) to change her eight-month-old son Jayden James’ nappy - and paparazzi descended on the car causing road chaos.
It’s not the first time Spears’ parenting skills have been questioned - she almost dropped her eldest son Sean Preston on one occasion and was seen driving her car while he sat on her lap last year (06).

A host of Hollywood stars including ANGELINA JOLIE, BRAD PITT, JULIA ROBERTS and GEORGE CLOONEY are descending on the south of France this week (begs14May07), for the start of the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.
Actress Lindsay Lohan and directors Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorcese are also due to attend the French festival, which opened today (16May07).
Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s Thirteen and Michael Moore’s controversial documentary Sicko are among the films to be premiered at the event, while Tarantino’s Death Proof will compete against David Fincher’s Zodiac, Gus Van Sant’s Paranoid Park, and James Gray’s We Own the Night, among others, for the prestigious Palme d’Or.
The 60th Cannes Film Festival runs until 27 May (07).

Hollywood hardman KIEFER SUTHERLAND’s action show 24 has been commissioned for two more seasons.
The actor - who plays agent Jack Bauer in the series, which is currently airing its sixth season - has signed a deal with Fox to keep the Emmy-winning thriller going until 2009.
Executive producer/showrunner Howard Gordon says, "We’re re-creating the series. It is going to be a real-time thriller. Beyond that, it’s an open book." It is believed the seventh series will return with a different cast and a new, non-Los Angeles location.

LINDSAY LOHAN’s mother DINA has hit back at reports her daughter is an out-of-control party girl, insisting the Mean Girls star is simply "misunderstood".
The actress, who completed a month-long stay in rehab to battle her drink demons earlier this year (07), is frequently criticised for her wild lifestyle - particularly after photographs showing the star allegedly snorting cocaine in a hotel toilet emerged last month (Apr07).
But her mother Dina is adamant the 20-year-old’s reputation is over-exaggerated by the media, and believes Lindsay is just enjoying the perks of the entertainment industry.
She says, "This (premieres and parties) is the fun part of the business.
She’ll be 21 in a few months.
"Regardless, of course, as a parent, you set boundaries and scold them. But there are these dark stories - she is so misunderstood. All she wants to do is act and have a somewhat normal life. When you’re 20, it’s normal to want to go to The Ivy, to go to the hot stores, She can’t live in a bubble."

MELANIE BROWN has moved on from her split with EDDIE MURPHY and found love with a Hollywood filmmaker.

Punk legend MICK JONES has defended rock badboy PETE DOHERTY, insisting his former THE CLASH bandmate JOE STRUMMER loved the troubled rocker’s music.
Doherty is criticised for making more headlines for his drug addictions and relationship with supermodel Kate Moss than his music.
But Jones, who produced The Libertines 2002 debut album Up the Bracket, sent his former bandmate a copy of the album just before he died - and he loved it.
He says, "I think Joe would have liked the current music scene - it’s really healthy at the moment. He would have liked Peter (Doherty), I’m sure.
"I’d done the first Libertines album before Joe died - I sent him a copy and I think he was pretty into it." Strummer died of a congenital heart defect in December 2002 at the age of 50.

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY will reportedly snub 40th anniversary celebrations for THE BEATLES’ album SGT PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND - to promote his new solo album instead.
The music legend would rather promote Memory Almost Full than appear on TV and radio to mark the anniversary of the famous album’s release on 1 June (07), according to industry insiders.
A source tells British newspaper the Daily Express, "While it would have been nice to see Paul and Ringo Starr do something to mark the occasion this time around, Sir Paul is simply going to be too busy promoting his new album to make a big deal out of it.
"While he is obviously extremely proud of Sgt Pepper’s, it’s more rewarding for him to be concentrating on making sure his new album’s a commercial success." Meanwhile, contemporary rockers Oasis and The Kaiser Chiefs are to record a new version of the song to mark the anniversary.

SPIDER-MAN 3 has taken top spot in the U.K. box office chart for a second week.
The third installment of the Spider-Man franchise took £5.6 million ($11.2 million) over the weekend (11-12May07), adding to the £11.8 million ($23.6 million) it took on its first weekend.
28 Weeks Later, the sequel to zombie thriller 28 Days Later, made its debut at number two - followed by Bridge To Terabithia in third place.
Road trip movie Wild Hogs stayed at number four after taking £317,000 ($634,000) over the weekend and former chart-topper Mr Bean’s Holiday is at number five, taking its total to £21.4 million ($42.8 million).
Nicolas Cage’s film Next fell to sixth, with courtroom drama Fracture following in seventh place.

GREY’S ANATOMY star KATE WALSH is engaged to boyfriend ALEX YOUNG after a whirlwind romance.

Film rights of the fiery cook’s autobiography Humble Pie has been sold - and Ramsay already has an idea of who he would like to take on the lead role.

Hip-hop producer SCOTT STORCH is facing legal action for more than $550,000 (£275,000), after failing to repay a $100,000 (£50,000) loan he received in 2003.
LA Confidential owner David Menefield filed the lawsuit against Storch and his production company Tuff Jew Productions in the United States Central District Court last Wednesday (09May07) - claiming the Lean Back hitmaker had not fulfilled his promise to repay the loan.
According to the papers, Storch had agreed to be solely responsible for the borrowed money, which his company Tuff Enough Productions had received when he was facing foreclosure on his home.
He had also promised to deliver four songs to Menefield, who is the former manager of rapper Knocturnal.
Menefield tells AllHipHop.com, "I wish it didn’t have to come to this." In 2006, Rolling Stone magazine estimated Storch’s fortune at $70 million (£35 million). He is best known for his work with stars including 50 Cent, R.
Kelly, The Game and Beyonce Knowles.

SIR MICK JAGGER has dismissed reports he is to wed his girlfriend L’WREN SCOTT, after the stylist was seen flaunting a sparkling ring on her engagement finger at a recent (May07) New York fashion event.
Last night (15May07) a spokesman for the British rocker insisted the couple have no plans to get married, despite a friend of Jagger suggesting otherwise.
The pal says, "Mick’s really not the sort to have some kind of engagement. If they were going to get married, they would probably just do it.
"Yet it is interesting that L’Wren has on this occasion - a very public event in New York - decided to wear a ring on her engagement finger so obviously.
"If they are not engaged, they are certainly happy for the world to think they are. They are both savvy enough to realise what speculation such a pose may attract." KENNY CHESNEY was awarded the top prize at last night’s (15May07) Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas, taking home the Entertainer of the Year honour for the third consecutive time.
The singer paid tribute to his fellow musicians George Strait and Keith Whitley as he accepted the award.
He said, "When I first started playing music, I was in college and I would go rent all my equipment and put it in the back of a pick-up truck. The only thing I wanted to do was cut a record as good as Keith Whitley did, and I listened to that music over and over again." Chesney was also nominated in the Best Male Vocalist category, but lost out to Brad Paisley.
American Idol winner Carrie Underwood won the award for Best Female Vocalist, and celebrated as her debut release, Some Hearts, was named Album of the Year.
Other winners at the ceremony include veteran crooner George Strait, who took Song of the Year for Give It Away, Rascal Flatts for Best Vocal Group and Brooks and Dunn for Best Vocal Duo - remaining unchallenged as they were crowned for the 14th time.
