VON TEESE REFUTES ‘GOLD DIGGER’ REPORTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:04 pm

MARILYN MANSON’s estranged wife DITA VON TEESE is disgusted at reports she only wed the shock rocker for his money - insisting she "didn’t make a dime" from the marriage.

McENTIRE POKES FUN AT SPEARS & HILTON

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:04 pm

REBA McENTIRE dropped her nice-lady persona to take a stab at BRITNEY SPEARS and PARIS HILTON at the Academy of Country Music Awards last night (15May07).
The flame-haired country singer, who was hosting the Las Vegas ceremony, showed she has a knack for comedy when she served up barbs at the troubled stars’ expense.
She poked fun at Spears’ new bald look, joking, "I just got word that Britney Spears has formed a new country group - it’s called Rascal Flat-Top." But it was her Paris gag that left some audience members taking a sharp intake of breath.
She joked, "She’s had a rough time lately; she lost her dog, lost her man, got drunk and now she’s going to jail. Let’s just face it, she’s living a country song."

MANSON: ‘LITTLE SYMPATHY FOR VIRGINIA TECH VICTIMS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:04 pm

Shock rocker MARILYN MANSON has branded the vigils held in the wake of the Virginia Tech massacre "manufactured".
The singer, whose controversial music was held partially responsible by some for the Columbine shootings in April 1999, is confused by the public outpouring of grief in the wake of the tragedy, insisting it’s pointless to "waste emotions" on the incident that left 33 people dead last month (Apr07).
He says, "You know it all seems very manufactured to me in the way that there’s candlelight vigils but I haven’t seen anyone crying. Not one single person crying.
"Someone said to me yesterday ‘I’m sure you’re full of mixed emotions’. I’m not. I don’t really care. I don’t know anyone involved in it. If you lose emotion, and you gain it back, you realise that hate and love are very important to distribute properly. So I am not going to waste any kind of emotion on things that aren’t related to me.
"It doesn’t mean that you have to be insensitive or cold, or have no sort of empathy. It just means that when you do have an emotion, make it extreme."

BONO IN FIREPLACE FURORE

U2 rocker BONO has dismissed reports he upset neighbours at his New York apartment block, insisting his complaint over smoky fireplaces was about "health and safety".

Leni May, the wife of building board member Peter May, reveals the rocker consulted them about the problem.
She says, "Bono was so nice. He said, ‘Listen, whatever I can do to get these things working, but it’s emptying into my apartment and I can’t have smoke like that.’" The rocker shares his apartment with his wife Ali and his four children, one of whom suffers from asthma.
A spokesperson for his management firm, Principle Management, says, "This is not a Bono issue. It’s a building issue. It’s about health and safety regulations."

She says, "It was great stuff but I was worried about it - I had all of it in the house in Arizona. And it was a classy auction. I got plenty of money - and I don’t care what people think.
"I earned it - I deserved it. I don’t care. You couldn’t pay me - what I did with Steve when he was sick - I earned it."

THE LONG GOOD FRIDAY TO GET REMAKE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:55 pm

Classic British crime film THE LONG GOOD FRIDAY is getting a Hollywood makeover in Miami under the direction of Resident Evil moviemaker PAUL W. S. ANDERSON.
The 1980 original starred Bob Hoskins as a London gangster whose criminal empire comes under attack from a wave of mysterious bombings.
But production company Handmade Films says the new movie would be "refreshed" with a modern setting.
Chairman Patrick Meehan says, "The original was a highly praised classic and one of Handmade’s most prized films, but its reach was limited primarily to the U.K.
"Following continued interest from the U.S., we realised this remake could attract audiences worldwide with an updated setting and contemporary overtones.
"When Paul presented his creative vision for this project, we were instantly convinced that this is a story that could be successfully refreshed, yet leave the integrity of the original intact." No actors have so far been cast for the project.

WACHTER TO JOIN ANGELS AND AIRWAVES AFTER SINN SACKING?

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:49 pm

Former 30 SECONDS TO MARS star MATT WACHTER is reportedly set to join rockers ANGELS AND AIRWAVES - after bassist RYAN SINN was sacked from the band.
The Adventure hitmakers - formed by ex-Blink 182 vocalist Tom DeLonge in 2005 - are said to have kicked Sinn out of the group last month (Apr07), and while the bassist refuses to reveal details of the split, he has branded the reasons "severely hypocritical".
Writing on fansite thearmyofangels.com, he says, "I received a phone call the evening of April 19th that concluded my relationship with Angels and Airwaves.
I could go into an entire novel about my opinions of the whole matter and why I was given the axe, but to me, throwing dirt just seems desperate and tabloidial.
"All I’ll say as to why I was kicked out, the reasons I was given weren’t at all honest, and severely hypocritical to the point of abhorrent disgust." Wachter has been tipped to replace Sinn in Angels and Airwaves after playing several recent U.S. tour dates with them, but the rumours have yet to be confirmed.

McGRAW STUNS WITH EMOTIONAL TRIBUTE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:49 pm

TIM McGRAW stunned guests at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas last night (15May07) with an emotional tribute to the families of dead soldiers.
The country star donned all black to perform I’m Already Home towards the end of the event, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when the darkened stage was lit up at the close of his song to reveal a group of grieving U.S.
soldiers’ families.
Under the banner Families of Fallen Heroes, the group stood proudly, some clutching photos of their loved ones who lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The awards show guests rose to their feet to give McGraw and his special guests a lengthy standing ovation, and many were seen crying and wiping tears away. McGraw’s wife Faith Hill, who was among the audience, sobbed as she raised her fist in the air.
Singer Carrie Underwood, who claimed the Top Female Vocalist prize immediately after McGraw’s performance, began her acceptance speech with a salute to her fellow country star.
She said, "Alright, everybody’s thinking it, I just gotta say, ‘Tim McGraw, I know you’re backstage. That was absolutely amazing. There was not a dry eye in the house.’ Good job." Earlier in the evening McGraw was himself the centre of a sweet tribute when teenage singer Taylor Swift performed her hit Tim McGraw at the event.
She left the stage and walked into the audience to serenade the subject of the tune and his wife. Before last night, Swift had never met McGraw. At the end of her song, she reached out a nervous hand and said, "Hi, I’m Taylor." Show host Reba McEntire said, "That’s sweet." Country trio Rascal Flatts also paid an inspirational tribute to the families of those who lost their lives in the Virginia Tech massacre last month (Apr07) during their performance of He Ain’t The Leaving Kind on the show.
Among the other live highlights at last night’s country celebration included a collaboration between Big & Rich and John Legend and a duet between show host Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson.
