Rapper BEANIE SIGEL has slammed former label boss DAMON DASH for publicly courting the rapper after the Roc-A-Fella split, branding his intentions "insincere".
Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter and Dash parted ways over their Roc-A-Fella label in 2005, but the Remember The Days star knew little about the reason behind the split because he was serving time behind bars for a federal weapons charge when the label change occurred.
All artists on the label were given the option to either stay with Roc-A-Fella or sign with another company, and while Sigel - real name Dwight Grant - ultimately chose to stay, he was regularly seen together with Dash, prompting rumours he had settled a deal with the Damon Dash Music Group.
Sigel denies this was the case and blames Dash for using him as a PR stunt to raise the profile of his own label.
He tells MTV, "I don’t know what his intentions were, but in all honesty, nah (his intentions were not pure).
"A lot of people thought I was leaning toward Dame Dash Music Group - they seeing Dame in the videos we shooting and him coming to court and coming to jail to see me. It was like, ‘OK, Dame is riding with him.’ That was never the case with me. A lot of people look at it like Dame did this, that and third, that should have been my obligation. But for what? If you doing that, you doing it from the heart.
"You don’t want to question your friend, or who you thought was your friend.
Their loyalty and sincerity towards you, you don’t want to question that. As time went on, I did things to bring stuff out to light, and I was finding out a lot of stuff that wasn’t right.
"I’m no dummy, I’m no fool. I seen through all that. I was letting that weigh out. There’s a song by Bill Withers: ‘Use Me.’"

KELLY CLARKSON wrote her new album after turning down her label’s offers to record songs rejected by other artists.
Clarkson admits she was put under pressure by her record label to use a team of writers and some songs already offered to other singers - but she was determined to create My December herself.
The singer - who recently defended the LP from claims label bosses at RCA and Sony BMG were unimpressed with her songwriting attempts - tells MTV.tv, "Everybody always wants me to go in different directions. Obviously they’re a record label so they need to sell records. They want the formula writers and the formula producers that do everybody else’s stuff, and while I love some of those people… and I don’t mind working with that… I just don’t like working with someone that gives you a song and is like, ‘Oh, I wrote this for you.’ But you find out that they’ve given it to every other artist and they turned it down, you know? "My label literally sent me a Lindsay Lohan track from her last album and wanted me to record it for my new album. And while I like Lindsay Lohan, like I’m cool with her and I think she sings the song well… it’s already been on an album.
"They were just sending me stuff that was like almost insulting. I’m like, ‘You can’t even find new songs? You don’t want me to write my album but you’re sending me hand me downs?’ So, I ended up writing the entire thing with the people that I write well with."

The 38-year-old goth rocker and Wood, 19, reportedly refused to fake a lengthy sex sequence in Manson’s new music promo for ‘Heart-Shaped Glasses’.
A source close to the production crew told Radar magazine: "They elected not to fake their intercourse. Though their genitals are concealed on-screen by bedclothes and each other’s bodies, the video was originally intended to be shot in 3D, meaning their sex had to be shot from several different angles simultaneously. That meant the crew saw everything.
"And just to be sure they got it right, they got it on three times for the cameras.
‘The Christian parents will be sharpening their steak knives for him.’ The rocker’s representative has denied the sex scenes were real, saying: ‘It was simulated sex.’ In another scene, Wood – dresses as fictional teenage seductress Lolita – rubs her crotch while watching Manson perform on stage.
The video also features a shot of Wood lying drenched in blood.
Interscope record label are said to be releasing a toned down version of the video.

The British comic star has been approached by Rob Reiner, the director of the cult film of the same name which spawned the ‘group’, who is keen for Gervais to appear on stage at the July event.
It is believed Gervais will introduce Spinal Tap but it is possible he could perform as well, reports Britain’s The Sun newspaper.
The ‘Extras’ star – who has previously admitted he is a huge fan of the 1984 movie and has struck up a close friendship with actor Christopher Guest, who plays guitarist Nigel Tufnel – once enjoyed a brief pop career.
He was one half of 80s duo Seona Dancing, along with Bill Macrae. However, the band’s two singles ‘More to Lose’ and ‘Bitter Heart’ entered the UK charts at a dismal 70 and 79 respectively.
The eco-friendly charity concert takes place at London’s new Wembley Stadium on July 7 and in a further seven cities, including Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro.
Madonna, the Beastie Boys, Black Eyed Peas, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Keane and Foo Fighters are expected to headline the London show.

The singer-and-actress, who had to lose weight for her role in ‘Dreamgirls’, substituted her cravings for chocolate and chips with low-carb pig skins.
Beyoncé told Cosmopolitan magazine: "It is so tempting on film sets. They have these tables with every kind of chocolates, every type of bread - doughnuts, rolls and even cake.
"I’d just eat pork skins because that’s the closest thing to chips that I could eat.
"I run and do press-ups to try and stay in shape, but I can’t resist chocolate." The former Destiny’s Child singer also admitted she finds her healthy diet boring.
She said: "I eat a lot of boring things like green vegetables. I don’t eat red meat or bread and I don’t drink alcohol - I just don’t like the taste.
"I also do a lot of dancing which I think is the best exercise."

Fox has ordered video sharing website broadcaster.com to remove the three ‘The O.J. Simpsons’ clips, claiming they infringe on the studio’s copyright.
The shorts use a similar style to the long-running cartoon and feature O.J. looking a lot like Homer Simpson. O.J.’s two kids, Sydney and Justin, are made to resemble Homer’s children Bart and Lisa.
The clips open with a sequence similar to ‘The Simpsons’ opening credits. The only notable difference is the family’s car is replaced by a white Bronco being chased by police cars.
The three clips refer to O.J.’s book ‘If I did it’, which News Corporation recently prevented from being published and a family holiday to Iraq entitled ‘Warzone’.
Each clip ends with the disclaimer: "The previous video is not affiliated or endorsed by either Fox, Matt Groening or anyone related to Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa or Maggie. In other words, it’s not ‘The Simpsons’ - it’s ‘The O.J. Simpsons’. D’uh".
Martin Wade, the CEO of broadcaster.com, has refused to take the clips down, citing the First Amendment’s protection of parody speech and fair use in the US.
The clips can still be found on the website, as well as other sites including YouTube.

Anna Nicole’s former lover and lawyer filed the papers – naming him as the will’s executor – at a Los Angeles probate court, stating her total assets to be worth $710,000.
The will – which was drawn up in April 2001 – leaves everything to Anna Nicole’s son Daniel who died last September of an accidental overdose in the Bahamas.
Daniel, 20, was visiting his mother just days after she had given birth to daughter Dannielynn when he died.
Anna Nicole’s ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead, 34, was proven by DNA test results to be the father of eight-month-old Dannielynn on April 10. Anna Nicole died on February 8 from an accidental overdose at Florida’s Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Meanwhile, Birkhead filed a separate petition at a Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday formally requesting to be named as guardian of Dannielynn’s estate.
Los Angeles probate attorney Allan Cutrow said: ‘What this means - if granted - is that Stern as the executor will have to deal with Birkhead on any matters pertaining to Anna Nicole’s estate.
‘Birkhead and Stern appear to be cooperating in pursuit of Anna Nicole Smith’s claim against the Marshall estate - that’s where the principal money is.’ Anna Nicole’s estate could be worth much more because of her decade-long court battle for the estimated $1.6 billion estate of her late husband, Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II. A hearing was set for June 19 regarding Stern and Birkhead’s respective filings.

The prince has 44 friends listed on his page, including Alexandra Aitken, daughter of disgraced Tory politician Jonathan Aitken, along with many of his fellow students from Scotland’s St Andrew’s University.
The prince’s former girlfriend Kate Middleton is also listed as a friend.
One of William’s pals Edward Blunt has posted a photo of the prince playing polo, next to which the young royal has written ‘Think that’s more like it, although I didn’t pot it’.

The duchess - nicknamed Fergie - decided to call in the favour after taking note that singer Stacy Ferguson had called her first solo album ‘The Dutchess’ and filmed the video in London sporting a tiara as a cheeky reference to their shared nickname.
Sarah contacted the ‘My Humps’ singer and asked her to perform at a concert she is organising for UNICEF (The United Nation Children’s Fund) at New York’s Cipriani Wall Street on May 17.
The 32-year-old singer has agreed.
This will be the third annual Cipriani Wall Street Concert Series, running over seven nights, and will this year benefit the US Fund for UNICEF and the Sarah Ferguson Foundation.
Sponsors Deutsche Bank and Cipriani expect to exceed the $1.2 million raised last year for amfAR.
As well as Fergie, 50 Cent, Lenny Kravitz, The Pussycat Dolls and Andrea Bocelli will also perform.
The duchess established the Sarah Ferguson Foundation last year to help make a difference in the lives of families and children throughout the world.
The foundation aims to mandate funds generated from the duchess’ commercial and charitable projects to provide financial support to various charities including UNICEF.

Britain’s Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, attended a nature reserve opening in Wiltshire yesterday (14.05.07). The royal couple are keen gardeners and showed their support by donning some gardening gloves to help with some planting. Charles, 58, who is well known for his love of nature and horticulture, opted for a bright purple pair of gloves, while Camilla chose a more traditional green. The orchids planted by the prince and his wife will contribute to a wealth of plants hoped to flourish in the 96-acre Oaksey reserve.
Charles, who is father to Princes William, 24, and Harry, 22, then spoke about the importance of safeguarding large reserves which play a key role in protecting wildlife. The prince and Camilla, 59, enjoy spending time outdoors and take frequent trips to the countryside. Keen environmentalist Charles is an avid speaker on green issues, and was awarded the 10th annual Global Environmental Citizen Award from Harvard Medical School’s Centre for Health and the Global Environment earlier this year.

In a rare candid moment, the royal couple spoke openly with reporters at a news conference on Monday (14.05.07), ahead of their trip to the Baltic States, Britain and Sweden. The emperor, 70, who is a keen scientist, said: ‘There is nothing that comes to mind that I would like to hide my status to do.’ But he confessed he often wishes he had more time to do research and ‘take long walks’. The emperor and empress will then visit Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and meet with Eastern European leaders. The trip will end in London, where the couple are set to meet Britain’s Queen Elizabeth. Michiko reassured the conference that she was well enough to join her husband on the tour, despite recent ill health. The princess had been suffering from nosebleeds, mouth ulcers and bleeding intestine walls - alignments which the palace reported were brought about by stress. The empress said: ‘I have never had such an illness before, but I have gotten enough rest and I am recovered.

John Lycett-Green - the grandson of former poet Laureate John Betjeman - claims the soldier princes are ‘keen to fight’ in Iraq but their father Prince Charles disagrees with the controversial war.
Lycett-Green, 28, told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: ‘William and Harry are great but they’re so gung-ho. Their dad is the opposite. He’s wonderful and very much against the Iraq war. Charles’s opinions are highly respected and he lends his voice to many noble causes such as environmentalism. I can’t understand why his sons are so keen to fight in such an awful war.’ Second Lieutenant Harry, 22, was due to go the Mayan Province of Iraq earlier this month but his arrival has been delayed over fears that he will be a trophy target for insurgents.
As first in line to the throne it is highly unlikely that William - who joined the same regiment as his younger brother, the Blues and Royals - will be deployed to Iraq.
William and Harry both took part in the Combined Cavalry Old Comrades Association Parade in London on Sunday (13.05.07), in what is likely to be their last public appearance together before Harry enters battle.
Lycett-Green, a reggae DJ, previously hit the headlines when he bared his bottom to a pack of photographers during a night out with William.

LATEST: Pop star LILY ALLEN has branded GIRLS ALOUD singer CHERYL COLE a "stupid bitch" for publicly criticising her appearance.

Hollywood star ANGELINA JOLIE has spoken out about the death of her mother, admitting she is struggling to cope with the loss.
The actress and her partner Brad Pitt were at Marcheline Bertrand’s bedside when she lost her seven-year battle with ovarian cancer in January (07) at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Jolie - who adopted Vietnamese tot Pax two months after her mother’s death admits she still grieving after losing her "best friend".
She says "I’m one of those people who walk around as if it’s fine, and then suddenly I don’t know why I’m crying over my breakfast. My mother was my best friend. I’m so grateful I had her as a mom.
"She had cancer for seven years, but she lived long enough to see my brother and I grow up to be quite happy. You almost get the feeling she held on until it was okay."

LATEST: Actor RICHARD GERE and Bollywood star SHILPA SHETTY will not face legal action over their public kiss at a charity event last month (Apr07), an Indian Supreme Court has ruled.
Shetty was ordered to appear before a judge in Rajasthan this morning (15May07) after a warrant was issued for her arrest following the incident on 26 April (07).
Gere and Shetty were speaking at a HIV/AIDS awareness event in New Delhi, when the Pretty Woman actor swept the beauty into his arms and kissed her several times.
Public displays of affection are taboo in India and arrest warrants were issued for both Gere and Shetty after a citizen filed a complaint, accusing the couple of committing an "obscene act".
Shetty petitioned the Supreme Court to suspend legal proceedings and also asked for all cases against her to be transferred to her home city of Mumbai, at a hearing yesterday (14May07).
The court granted the suspension which stops police and other courts from taking action against her and the Hollywood actor earlier today (15May07).
Her lawyer Anand Grover says a separate petition would be filed to prevent police from stopping her from travelling abroad, adding, "It is an unusual case. No case is made out… the allegation is that she did not resist."

Pop superstar PINK has branded fellow singer BRITNEY SPEARS and her pal PARIS HILTON "stupid".
The outspoken star - who famously ridiculed Hollywood females in her single Stupid Girls - says the blonde pals are "ignorant".
