COUNTRY SINGERS RIDE FOR CHARITY
Country singers EDDIE MONTGOMERY and TROY GENTRY led hundreds of bikers on an annual charity motorcycle ride through Las Vegas yesterday (15May07).
The ride, part of the lead up to the Academy of Country Music awards, preceded a seven-hour concert at downtown Las Vegas’ Fremont Street Experience.
The academy has raised more than $1.5 million (£750,000) for charities and organisations around the world.
Montgomery says, "It’s really, really unbelievable how much it’s grown. We’re just glad to be very much a part of it and just glad to see all the riders join in." Montgomery and Gentry are among the nominees for the 42nd annual awards presentation tomorrow (15May07) evening at the MGM Grand.
