US reality TV star JASON WAHLER has been charged with assault, criminal trespass and underage drinking - one day after it was announced he has entered a rehab facility to treat an undisclosed addiction.
The charges relate to an incident in Seattle, Washington last month (Apr07) when the 20-year-old allegedly hurled racial and homophobic abuse at police while being arrested for punching a hotel security guard.
Prosecutors want Wahler to spend 10 days in jail, pay a $4,500 (GBP2,250) fine and to receive chemical dependency treatment, reports People.com.
However, if Wahler is found guilty he could land more jail time if found in violation of probation - because of an assault in Los Angeles in September last year (06).
The Laguna Beach regular had been due to start a 60 day jail sentence for that assault case last week (ends04May07), but a Los Angeles judge delayed the sentence to allow Wahler to go to rehab.
Wahler also stands accused of beating up a truck driver in LA in March (07).

Actress DENISE RICHARDS was shocked by the hostile reaction that greeted the news she was dating her friend HEATHER LOCKLEAR’s then-estranged husband RICHIE SAMBORA.
Former Bond girl Richards, who divorced the father of her two daughters, Charlie Sheen, in November (06), started dating Bon Jovi rocker Sambora last year (06).
At the time, Sambora was separated from actress Locklear - the couple’s divorce was finalised last month (Apr07).
And Richards admits she was surprised at how the media assumed she and Sambora had behaved deceitfully.
She says, "It was really one-sided. I was shocked at how judgmental people are. Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors, except for the people involved. We need to be grown-ups.
"I didn’t have an affair with Richie during his marriage, nor did he during mine. I am a loyal girlfriend and a good friend.
"I hadn’t spoken to Heather in quite a few months when Richie and I got together. I wasn’t her best friend who said, ‘By the way, I’m sleeping with your husband.’ "Quite frankly we couldn’t help it. The attraction was there and we have such a strong connection."

O.J. SIMPSON has been forced to drop a lawsuit against a restaurant owner who threw him out because he disapproved of his conduct following the 1994 murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her companion Ron Goldman.
Restaurant boss Jeff Ruby asked the American football legend to leave Joe Ruby’s Steakhouse in Louisville, Kentucky earlier this month (May07).
This week (begs07May07), Simpson’s attorney Yale Galanter said he believed his client’s eviction was racially motivated.
However, during an interview on The Big Show With Steve Mason & John Ireland on ESPN Radio on Thursday (10May07) night, Ruby said, "I got a phone call from the Goldman lawyers, and he’s not going to be able to do this lawsuit anyway, because they’ve already taken preemptive action in case there is a claim." In 1995, Simpson was acquitted of the murders of his former wife and Goldman.
In 1997, he was found liable for their deaths in a civil court - he still owes the majority of the $33.5 million (GBP16.75 million) he was ordered to pay.

US comedian TRACY MORGAN is wanted by police for questionning after a Florida radio DJ filed a criminal complaint accusing the actor of touching her inappropriately while on the air.
Mega 94.9 host Sandy Domingo claims Morgan walked into her booth at the Clear Channel building in Miami yesterday (11May07) and started kissing the back of her head while rubbing her arms and shoulders.
Morgan was a guest on neighbouring radio station Big 105.9’s Paul And Young Ron show.
Police want to talk to Morgan to hear his side of the story, before deciding whether to charge him with misdemeanour battery or not.
Last month (Apr07), a Los Angeles judge ordered Morgan to wear an ankle bracelet detecting alcohol consumption and to complete five days of community service.

Rocker COURTNEY LOVE is performing Buddhist chants to decide what to do with the money raised from auctioning her late husband KURT COBAIN’s belongings.
The former Hole star is trying to decide whether to hold a private sale or an auction, and whether to use the proceeds to establish a foundation.
She writes on her website: "I chanted two hours tonight and really thought about where the money should go." Love wants to "do good works with the proceeds, works that would create artists and promote them to stop bullying, to deal with self-destructive fantasies and suicidal ideation at a young age." DONNY OSMOND is recovering after a hospital dash on 3 May (07).
The Puppy Love singer was promoting his new CD with a series of radio interviews when he suddenly found himself gasping for air and vomiting.
His publicist immediately cancelled his radio schedule and rushed the singer-turned-game show host to a nearby hospital, where he was diagnosed with a sinus infection, treated and sent home.

Singer SHERYL CROW has adopted a baby boy.
The 45-year-old, who split with former boyfriend Lance Armstrong last year (06), has named the child Wyatt Steven Crow.
Announcing the news on her website yesterday (11Apr07), Crow wrote: "I am so excited to share with you guys that I’ve adopted a little boy… he was born two weeks ago.
"His name is Wyatt (after my dad) Steven (after my little brother) and we are enjoying some very private family time."

LATEST: The PHIL SPECTOR murder trial has heard further testimony from a waitress who was with the music producer on the night he is accused of fatally shooting actress Lara Clarkson.
On Thursday (10May07), Kathy Sullivan told the Los Angeles court how she met up with Spector at her Grill On The Abbey workplace on 2 February 2003, and that they went on to nearby nightclubs Trader Vic’s, Dan Tana’s and House Of Blues, where he met Clarkson.
Yesterday (11May07), Sullivan again took the stand and confirmed to defence attorney Roger Rosen that Spector had drank navy grogs and daiquiris, but was not drunk and may not have consumed all the drinks he ordered.
She also said he could walk and talk with no problems, was in an upbeat mood, chatting about various topics including American Idol, and gave extremely generous tips at all three clubs.
Sullivan said Spector became annoyed when she began drinking water at around 2am just after they arrived at House Of Blues, telling her to go home if she didn’t want to stay out.
He then got Clarkson to walk her out of the club, and his driver took her home, Sullivan told the court.
Spector is accused of shooting Clarkson dead at his Alhambra, California home in February 2003. He has pleaded not guilty and claims Clarkson committed suicide.
The trial continues.

LATEST: California governor ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER will appear in the next TERMINATOR sequel - in digital form.
The actor-turned-politician, who has starred in the three Terminator movies to date, has granted studio Halycon permission to use his likeness in the upcoming movie.
Earlier this week (begs07May07), Halycon entrepreneurs Victor Kubicek and Derek Anderson announced they have bought the rights to the Terminator franchise and are planning to have a fourth film in cinemas by 2009.
Anderson says, "We’ll be using computer altered stock images of Arnold. That way we can span his entire career, from the frightening ’80s era Terminator to the ice cool T2 version." However, Schwarzenegger will still be personally involved in the next episode, and a further two installments after that, of the series.
His representative Annabelle Gross tells Moviehole.net, "He’s signed on as executive producer for all three pictures, and we are in talks for further appearance licensing."

Veteran character actor NICHOLAS WORTH has died of heart failure. He was 69.
Worth, who is best known for playing villains in movies including Don’t Answer The Phone! (1980) and Darkman (1990), passed away on Monday (07May07) at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys, California.
Born on 4 September 1937 in St Louis, Missouri, Worth went on to make his film debut in 1966’s For Pete’s Sake.
He also appeared in Swamp Thing (1982) and The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad! (1988), and in TV shows The X-Files and Star Trek: Voyager.

American actress JAIME PRESSLY has given birth to a baby boy.
Dezi James was born at 7.31am in Los Angeles this morning (11May07), weighing six pounds and four ounces (2.83 kilograms).
Pressly’s DJ fiance Eric Cubiche is the baby’s father.
The baby is called Dezi as the result of a running joke between Pressly, 29, and Cuban-American Cubiche, 33 - he impersonates I Love Lucy actor Desi Arnaz by calling Pressly ‘Luuucy’, reports People.com.

Hollywood star MEL GIBSON has been praised by a Malibu, California judge for making steady progress in a court-ordered alcohol rehabilitation program following his drink-driving arrest last year (06).
Gibson infamously made anti-Semitic remarks during his arrest for driving under the influence in July 2006.
He was sentenced to three years probation, fined $1,300 (£650) and ordered to attend Alcoholic Anonymous meeting for a year.
At a hearing in Malibu today (11May07), at which Gibson was not present, Judge Lawrence J. Mira said he was pleased with the filmmaker’s progress.
Mira, who spoke to Gibson earlier this week (begs07May07), said, "I truly believe the rehabilitation that is being effected in this case is effective, and I don’t want to do anything to interrupt that." Gibson will appear in court on 23 August (07) for a final progress report.
Mira added, "I do want to see him in court at some point to ensure we are all on the same page. I know his extensive participation in a self-help program and I should note he has done extensive work, beyond which was required."

Alexa, whose mother is former supermodel Christie Brinkley, is used to growing up in the public eye, but wishes music fans would set their expectations a little lower.
She says, "I get this question a lot. It’s definitely harder because the expectations are very, very high.

Ride split in 1996 after eight years together and the band’s management insists the British group’s former members are too busy to reunite.

Rocker PERRY FARRELL is planning to take his US festival Lollapalooza around the world.
The former Jane’s Addiction frontman launched Lollapalooza as a travelling festival in 1991 - it ran until 1997 and was then revived by Farrell in 2003, before becoming a one location event in 2005.
And now Farrell wants to bring Lollapalooza to the world.
He tells MTV News, "I’m going to look to take it global. I want to put together an event around the world in the next 10 years that will refashion, redress and transform.
"I like the idea of being outdoors. It’s something I’m looking into now, and if it happens, it will happen quick. That’s my ambition."
