MIRREN ‘MORTIFIED’ BY QUEEN SNUB REPORTS
LATEST: Actress DAME HELEN MIRREN is horrified by reports she ’snubbed’ British monarch QUEEN ELIZABETH II after prior commitments forced her to turn down a dinner invitation to Buckingham Palace.
Mirren - who won the Best Actress Academy Award this year (07) for her portrayal of the royal in the film The Queen - was "very sad" to have to turn down the dinner invitation, which clashed with filming for National Treasure: Book Of Secrets.
Mirren, 61, tells the New York Post, "I am mortified
. I just could not shut all that down to take three days off to go to Buckingham Palace."
