SPIDER-MAN 3 TOPS U.K. BOX OFFICE

SPIDER-MAN 3 has topped the U.K. box office, recording one of the highest-grossing opening weekends ever.
The third installment of the Spider-Man franchise took £11.8 million ($23.6 million) this weekend (05-06May07), while family film Bridge To Terabithia was second, with takings of £1 million ($2 million).
Nicolas Cage’s Next was third, taking £400,000 ($800,000), with Wild Hogs dropping to number four grossing £360,000 ($720,000). Thriller Fracture was at number five.
Mr Bean’s Holiday spent its sixth week in the top ten at number six, with total takings of £21.1 million ($42.2 million) in the U.K.
Blades of Glory, Alpha Dog, This Is England and The Painted Veil are at numbers seven, eight, nine and ten respectively.
