British rockers KASABIAN dream of working with U.S. superstar ALICIA KEYS - but claim the trappings of fame are holding her back from realising her full potential.
Guitarist Serge Pizzorno admits the singer is his perfect writing pal and would love to work with the Fallin’ star in the studio.
He says, "If I could write for any artist, it would be Alicia Keys.

The daughter of legendary animator WALT DISNEY has blasted Palestinian terror group Hamas for using a character resembling Mickey Mouse for a recruitment drive.
Diane Disney Miller has slammed the organisation for their use of the cartoon stalwart in a local television series encouraging kids to fight against Israel and the U.S.
She says, "It’s indoctrinating children. This is just going against the grain of humanity."

PARIS HILTON’s contract as the face of Austrian drinks brand Rich Prosecco will not be terminated, despite her impending jail term.
Hilton, 26, was sentenced to 45 days in prison last week (04May07), after she was found guilty of violating the terms of her 2006 drink-driving arrest.
But the European company has decided to stand by the hotel heiress and directors hope her image will continue to lift sales of their sparkling wine.
Company boss Guenther Aloys tells German TV show Blitz, "The product is closely associated with Paris Hilton. She is our locomotive into the markets and we will definitely collaborate with her for the next two, three to five years. That’s what our contract says, too." Hilton signed on to promote the canned Prosecco drink last year (06).

Hollywood director CURTIS HARRINGTON has died. He was 80.
Filmmaker Harrington passed away on Sunday (06May07) at his home in Hollywood, after failing to fully recover from a stroke in 2005.
He directed short experimental movies in the 1940s and 1950s, and helmed his first full-length feature, 1961’s Night Tide - which saw actor Dennis Hopper in his first leading role, as a sailor who falls in love with a part-time mermaid.
Hopper paid tribute to the director, saying, "He’s always been a dear friend through the years. (As a director) he allowed me all the freedom that I wanted; he was very gracious. I enjoyed Curtis always. I’ll miss him."

LATEST: HBO boss CHRIS ALBRECHT has resigned from the network, following his arrest on suspicion of allegedly attacking his girlfriend.
Albrecht yesterday (09May07) agreed to take a leave of absence, but has now agreed to step down, admitting the incident - which happened in Las Vegas in the early hours of Sunday (06May07) morning - has been embarrassing to HBO, reports TMZ.com.
In a statement Richard D. Parsons, the chairman and CEO of parent company Time Warner, says, "Jeff Bewkes (President and CEO of Time Warner) and I believe that this is the right decision for the Company. We thank Chris for all of his contributions to Home Box Office over the years." Albrecht says that he "agreed to step down… recognizing that I cannot allow my personal circumstances to distract them from the business." In an earlier letter to HBO staff, Albrecht apologised for the incident and admitted he was a recovering alcoholic.

LATEST: Hollywood star JANE FONDA’s mystery boyfriend was once married to her high school room-mate.
Fonda revealed she had met a new man during appearance on David Letterman’s talk show this week (08May07).
She has refused to disclose the mystery man’s name, but revealed more during a TV chat with pal Larry King last night.
Fonda said, "Yeah. He was married, oddly enough, to my high school roommate.
Although I never knew him then.
"It’s not a name that you would know. Just the women that have preceded me will appreciate it and they will know why I’m in love with him. But, no, this is very different for me.
"He’s retired. He comes from the business world. He’s a creative person actually who is launching a new creative project that’s kind of exciting." She insists the beau is very different from the alpha males she has been attracted to her whole life. Taking a swipe at her ex-husbands Roger Vadim, Tom Hayden and Ted Turner, she adds, "Unlike some of my other husbands who will remain nameless, he doesn’t suck up all of the oxygen in the room.
"Like a lot of women, all of my life, I never felt that I could kind of hold my own space. I always thought I had to be with an alpha male that, you know, that would sort of validate me. I could never be validated on my own.
"And I outgrew that. It took me a long time. Into my 60s. But I don’t need a man to validate me anymore. I could be with just a really nice guy who is capable of showing up and loving me and that feels really good.
"It’s a nice thing for me to be able to feel this when I will be 70 in December, and, you know, the wisdom is that after a certain age, you can’t have a really fulsome sexy, loving relationship. And hey, I’m here to prove that’s not true. It just can get better."

KASABIAN guitarist SERGE PIZZORNO has slammed British fans who liken the band to their musical predecessors THE STONE ROSES, OASIS and PRIMAL SCREAM.
The star believes fans in other countries accept the band for their rock prowess without drawing comparisons with similar groups.
He says, "The foreign fans listen to the music more and don’t call us The Stone Roses or anything.

MICHAEL MOORE is being investigated by the U.S. Treasury after he allegedly broke a trade embargo with Cuba by travelling to the Caribbean island with a group of September 11th rescue workers.
The stunt was part of the Oscar winner’s latest documentary Sicko, a critique of the health-care industry in America. He supposedly travelled with the 10 rescue workers, made ill from their efforts after the terrorist attacks on New York’s World Trade Center, in a bid to seek treatment for them.
Moore this week (07May07) received a letter from The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, notifying him that it was conducting a civil investigation for possible violations of the trade embargo restricting travel to Cuba. It reads, "This office has no record that a specific license was issued authorizing you to engage in travel-related transactions involving Cuba." Moore has reportedly arranged for the film to be held in a "safe house" outside the U.S. to protect if from government interference - ahead of its planned premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on 19 May (07).

British pop star MIKA is to write a song for Irish group WESTLIFE, according to reports.
The Grace Kelly singer is allegedly helping the band with tracks for their new album in a bid to inject some "freshness" into their sound.
A source tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "Mika has given pop a good kick start again in the fun department and turned around many opinions that the scene had perhaps gone a little stale.
"Westlife have been around for nine years now and want to freshen up their sound so Mika is exactly the man to do that." Bandmember Mark Feehily says, "Good pop doesn’t fall out of trees. Not many writers are writing for pop now."

Rapper NELLY is taking his controversial sports drink to Africa after signing a deal to distribute Pimp Juice through a company in South Africa.
The Hot In Herre star faced a backlash in America when he first launched the dubiously-named drink in 2003, but the product has been snapped up by Mojalife.
Sales of Pimp Juice will begin later this month (18May07) and the deal is expected to pave the way for the release of the rapper’s other business ventures, including his Vokal and Applebottom clothing labels, in Africa.

LATEST: PHIL SPECTOR’s alleged affinity for guns was raised again yesterday (09May07) as a fourth woman testified against him at his murder trial.
Melissa Grosvenor backed up an earlier claim the music producer had held a female photographer hostage at gunpoint by describing how he did the same to her.
Grosvenor, who met Spector in New York in 1991 and dated him for a year and a half, told Los Angeles Superior Court, "He walked up, held the gun to my face between my eyes and said, ‘If you try to leave I’m going to kill you.’" She added, "I was shocked. I started crying. … I was afraid. There was no doubt in my mind if I tried to leave he was going to kill me." Her testimony formed part of the prosecution’s efforts to show Spector had a pattern of pulling guns on girls.
He stands charged with shooting actress Lana Clarkson dead at his Alhambra, California home in February 2003. He has pleaded not guilty and claims Clarkson committed suicide.
The trial continues.

BLONDIE frontwoman DEBORAH HARRY was terrified when music producer PHIL SPECTOR pulled a gun on her at the height of the band’s fame in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
The singer claims Spector, who is currently on trial for the 2003 murder of actress Lana Clarkson, jokingly threatened her with a firearm.
She tells website me-me-me.tv, "He did it - he pulled a gun, that notorious thing he does. He stuck it in my boot and went ‘bang’. I thought, ‘Get me outta here. I just wanna go home’. "It’s his schtick, you know, but why a person would be walking around carrying a .45 automatic in their home… and now he’s finally gone and done it.
"I guess I did feel that it was inevitable really."

BRITNEY SPEARS has been showing off her new buzz cut to fellow dancers at her Hollywood dance studio.
Spears’ hair is now about two inches (five centimetres) long following her shock decision to shave her previously long locks off on 18 February (07) days before she entered Promises rehab centre in Malibu, California.
One of Spears’ back-up dancers, Crisilla Crossland, says that while the troubled singer is still wearing a wig in public, she is happy to let her work colleagues see her real hair.

Borat star SACHA BARON COHEN has dubbed the preparation for his role in TALLADEGA NIGHTS: THE BALLAD OF RICKY BOBBY as "the worst experience" of his life.

NAOMI CAMPBELL has become a big fan of sweeping floors and painting walls after discovering the chores were like therapy for her during a recent community service stint.
The supermodel spent five days in March (07) cleaning up at New York’s Sanitation Department, after she was found guilty of hurling a mobile phone at an assistant, and admits the punishment wasn’t the humiliating hell many thought it would be.
In a diary she wrote during her community service, which will be published in the new issue of style magazine W, the British model writes, "Maybe doing this service at the Sanitation was meant to be like a humiliation punishment, but it isn’t at all.
"I have to tell you, I find solace in sweeping." The menial tasks gave her the chance to face her controlling nature head on.
She adds, "I’m moving (sweeping) so fast they tell me to slow down. I’m getting very protective of my pile of rubbish - kind of the way I feel about my Hermes handbag or my Louis Vuitton.
"I keep looking around to make sure no one is crossing into the area I was assigned to sweep. I guess that’s my all-or-nothing behaviour again: Once I start sweeping, I have to sweep everything."

Funnyman MIKE MYERS used his imaginary eagle friend to keep him entertained during the endless hours in the studio recording the voice for SHREK THE THIRD.
Myers voiced the lovable green ogre in the latest installment in the animated blockbuster and admits he "created" pals to keep him company in the lonely soundbooth.
He says, "It’s an odd experience in this booth.
"It’s a combination like, a goal judge in hockey and the witness protection programme. You don’t get a lot of feedback.
"I developed imaginary friends. I have this imaginary eagle that sits with me and I talk to her.
"If it’s a particularly good take, she goes ‘ka!’ If it’s a great take, she does three ‘kas’ and I go, ‘What’s that? I was pretty good in that one?’"
