WILLIS BLASTS MICHAEL BAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:10 pm

BRUCE WILLIS has launched an astonishing attack on director MICHAEL BAY, vowing never to work with him again.
The actor fell out with Bay on the set of 1998 film Armageddon and has criticised his technique and personal skills on movie website Aintitcoolnews.com.
He writes, "Few people will work with him now, and I know I will never work with him again.
"It was a great crew, but a screaming director does not make for a pleasant set experience. But look, we were all big boys, and we got through it.
"A little too MTV-camera cutty for my taste, but the shots of meteors crashing into the WTC (World Trade Center) was pretty prescient. Billy Bob was under-used for my taste, the spacesuits continually malfunctioned and one nite (sic), Ben Affleck was seen bashing the front glass on his helmet with a rock because he couldn’t breathe.
"I am a fan and a friend of Liv Tyler, and thought she brought some fun to the movie. And it made a s**tload of money for Disney. Jerry Bruckheimer is a great producer, and I would work with him again anytime."

ALLEN BLAMES SIZE ZERO ON FASHION EDITORS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:10 pm

Pop star-turned-fashion designer LILY ALLEN has waded into the size zero debate, blaming the stick thin trend on "irresponsible" fashion editors.
The Smile singer unveiled her collection of prom dresses, shoes and funky accessories at British high street chain New Look on Tuesday (08May07) and is using her new career title to legitimise an attack on the fashion industry.
She says, "Fashion editors can f**k off. Lots of them are responsible for the skinny issue. If fashion editors put bigger models in their magazines, then maybe girls wouldn’t be sticking their fingers down their throats so much.
"It makes me so angry, they should think more about what they’re doing to the younger generation.
"It’s in the magazines’ and advertisers’ interests to make girls want to be skinny and feel s**t about themselves because then they will go out and buy their products. It’s just another part of the capitalist, materialistic, evil world that we live in."

FONDA’S ADVICE FOR LOHAN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:10 pm

JANE FONDA has told Georgia Rule co-star LINDSAY LOHAN to forget about celebrity and concentrate on building a fulfilling life.
The pair clashed on the set of the movie after Lohan was reprimanded for turning up on set late - but they bonded soon after and Fonda praised the starlet’s acting ability and change in attitude.
The 69-year-old reveals she urged Lohan to spend less time filling celebrity magazines - and even offered to teach her gardening.
Fonda told talk show host Larry King last night (09May07), "It’s so important that young people understand that you’re never number one forever. This is not going to last. And you have to have other things in your life besides celebrity. Or you’re just going to end up lonely and unhappy.
"So she has to begin to build the foundation of a life that’s got stuff in it, not just celebrity. And also this isn’t a dress rehearsal. This is it, man.
This is real life. And if you blow it, you don’t always have a second chance.
"And mostly what I want to do is wrap my arms around her and take her away for about 20 years and teach her how to garden or something."

DEPP: ‘MY DAUGHTER’S ILLNESS WAS LIFE-AFFIRMING’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:07 pm

JOHNNY DEPP has branded his daughter’s recent illness life-affirming - and praised the child for her "super-strength" during the difficult time.
Seven-year-old Lily-Rose, his daughter with long-term girlfriend Vanessa Paradis, was admitted to a London hospital in February (07) suffering from e.coli food poisoning, which caused her kidneys to shut down.
Shooting on Depp’s latest film Sweeny Todd at Pinewood Studios was postponed so the actor could hold a bedside vigil for the youngster.
He says, "It was a bumpy patch but she has come through it beautifully and unscathed and she is now as healthy as she always was. She is wonderful.
"It was a reminder to us of how lucky we are to be able to breathe, walk, talk, think, and surround ourselves with people we love.
"What got us through this wasn’t the strength of Vanessa or me but our daughter and her incredible ability to make us feel OK even though she was very unwell. She was super strong."

FONDA DANCED WITH LOHAN TO SAUCY TRIBUTE TRACK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:07 pm

Sixties sex symbol JANE FONDA was stunned to discover she has inspired a saucy new dance track.
Rapper Mickey Avalon has created a track called Jane Fonda, and the star even found herself dancing to it with Georgie Rule co-star Lindsay Lohan during a night out this week (begs07May07) - unaware it’s slang for a sexual workout.
She told talk show host Larry King yesterday (09may07), "I danced to it last night with Lindsay at the China Club. I didn’t know it referred to a sexual act. I just thought it meant working out.
"All I could hear was ‘do the Jane Fonda’. I didn’t hear all of the subtleties because I was busy dancing. But I intend to buy it and listen."

FONDA WANTS NINE TO FIVE SEQUEL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:04 pm

JANE FONDA is desperate to reunite with DOLLY PARTON and LILY TOMLIN for a sequel to hit 1980 film Nine To Five, but claims 20th Century Fox is stopping it from being made.
The movie starred the three as beaten-upon office workers who turn the tables on their bullying boss - a concept Fonda is convinced could be rejuvenated for the 21st century.
She told talk show host Larry King last night (09May07), "Fox owns it and they don’t seem to want us to do it. We have let them know we want to do it me and Dolly and Lily, we all want to do it, but it hasn’t happened yet. It would have to be different. Because Nine to Five exposed the problems that were true then and it has kind of changed now. So you would have to really know what women office workers are facing today, which is different."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:01 pm

The video will now only be shown after a 9pm watershed.

BRAGG ASSESSES BLAIR LEGACY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:01 pm

Singer/songwriter BILLY BRAGG used British Prime Minister TONY BLAIR’s resignation speech today (10May07) to pass judgment on the statesman’s 10 years in power.
Speaking from his constituency of Sedgefield earlier, the Labour leader announced he will step down on 27 June (07) and Bragg, a high-profile political campaigner, admits he had a mixed reaction to the news.
He says, "In 1997 when Blair was elected we lived in a time of possibilities.
Some of those possibilities have been realised like the right for gay people to get involved in a civil union, the minimum wage, getting the hereditarys (peers) out of the House Of Lords and I’ve been pleased by those." But he added, "Obviously it’s all been overshadowed by the Iraq war and by Blair’s failure to stop George Bush. I think he relied on his abilities to have some leverage with the Americans but I think we’re all painfully aware now how little that really worked.
"That’s going to overshadow everything."

HOOK: ‘NEW ORDER SPLIT ANNOUNCEMENT WAS A RELIEF’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:58 pm

Former NEW ORDER star PETER HOOK is relieved the world knows about the band’s split because he was finding the "awful secret" increasingly difficult to bear.
Hook - who is now working on a solo project with Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell - made the admission during a radio interview earlier this month (May07), citing Bernard Sumner’s work with dance act Electronic as the reason for the disbandment.
Although news of the split wasn’t supposed to have leaked during the interview, Hook is grateful he no longer has to keep up pretences.
He writes on his internet blog, "I suppose it was the interview with Clint Boon that started it all off. He’d asked me for a few words on Perry Farrell’s Satellite Party single… so I went on and lo and behold mentioned the New Order split.
"So I suppose because it was me saying it, it was out at last. I’m relieved really. (I) hated carrying on as normal with an awful secret so let’s move on shall we?"

FONDA PRAISES JAIL SENTENCE FOR ‘SPOILED’ HILTON

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:14 pm

JANE FONDA has hit out at PARIS HILTON, insisting she is "glad" the socialite was handed a jail sentence for violating her probation.
During an appearance on Larry King’s talk show last night (9May07), the 69-year-old actress claimed those less privileged than the hotel heiress would have received an ever harsher punishment.
She said, "I’m glad she’s being sentenced. I’m glad she is going to do the time. If she were black, if she were poor, she would have done it much sooner.
Maybe the first time that she had an offense. I believe these young people have to, you know, have to - have to learn their lessons.
"You pay for irresponsibility. Kids need structure. Kids need a good foundation and values. I was lucky, my dad had values and he passed them on. If you don’t have that in your life as a young person, it’s really tough. And especially if you’re rich and spoiled and you are made into a celebrity.
Somebody is going to give you your comeuppance and hopefully these young people are smart enough to learn from it."

HILTON ALLOWED TO DRIVE AGAIN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:14 pm

LATEST: PARIS HILTON is permitted to drive again - despite receiving jail time on Friday (04May07) for violating her probation by driving with a suspended license.
The hotel heiress will begin a 45-day sentence next month (05Jun07) but, according to the Department of Motor Vehicles, she’s free to get behind the wheel of a car in the meantime.
Hilton’s license was suspended in November (06) after a drink-driving arrest, but the organisation claims it was reinstated at the end of March (07).
Veteran DUI attorney Lawrence Taylor says, "If her license was reinstated, she’s perfectly okay to drive despite her probation violation. There’s no problem with that."
