STONE LANDS A SURPRISE GRAMMY
JOSS STONE was presented with a surprise Grammy Award when she joined Quincy Jones to announce the venue for the 50th Grammys in 2008.
The British singer thought she was asked to attend the big publicity event in Los Angeles yesterday (08May07) to simply announce the fact that next year’s ceremony would be held at the city’s Staples Center, but she was in for a big shock.
She says, "I got a Grammy and it wasn’t even the Grammys… It was for the Sly & The Family Stone tribute (album). I just sang a hook… and that was it.
(But) thank you very much, lovely jubbly."
