HANNAH LENDS VOICE TO SAVE RESORT FROM DEVELOPERS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:10 am

Actress DARYL HANNAH is encouraging donors to help raise the $1.5 million (£750,000) needed to spare a scenic Colorado resort from developers.
Meadows at the entrance to the town of Telluride in the Rocky Mountains have been threatened by developers for decades.
Campaigners have spent the last three months frantically trying to raise $50 million (£25 million) to buy the ‘valley floor’ parcel. They have until tomorrow (09May07), but are currently $1.5 million short.
The fundraising deadline of Wednesday was set in February (07) because the town government has until Friday (11May07) to issue municipal bonds to pay its half of the cost, reports newspaper USA Today.
Kill Bill star Hannah and other celebrities including Tom Cruise own homes in the area.
Hannah says, "(The valley floor) is the only thing left between it becoming another mall with a mountain and staying the historic landmark that it’s supposed to be."
