British funnyman SACHA BARON COHEN shocked JIM CARREY when he tried to set the actor up with his own daughter.
The Borat star made the embarrassing mistake at a Hollywood party where he came face to face with the star, and admits he often makes gaffes in awkward situations.
He says, "I always seem to make a faux pas when I meet famous people. I met Jim Carrey at a party once. I asked him if he had a girlfriend.
"He said, ‘No, I’m single.’ And then this quite attractive, young girl walked past and I said, ‘What about her?’. And she turned to him and said, ‘Dad, I’m going to be over there for a couple of minutes.’"
