ZEVON’S SON PROTECTS HIMSELF AS HE SIFTS THROUGH DAD’S TAPES
WARREN ZEVON’s son Jordan was so worried about developing the lung cancer that killed his father, he wore protective clothing and a mask while sifting through his lost recordings for a new collection.
Jordan, who is now an activist against the asbestos-related cancer that killed his father in 2003, stumbled across tapes and memorabilia in a suitcase and set about remastering the best recordings for a new CD.
He tells the Los Angeles Times newspaper, "Dad would shed a skin every few years, and it was all in there." The two-CD set Jordan Zevon has compiled has been released simultaneously with a new tell-all book, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead: The Dirty Life & Times of Warren Zevon, written by the late rock star’s ex-wife Crystal.
