He tells People magazine, "I am so excited to attend the Kentucky Derby this year and am honoured that the Barnstable Brown Family personally invited me.
"I’ve wanted to go for the past few years, so I am taking the opportunity and going to enjoy attending the race, going to the black tie galas and enjoying the whole experience.
"It’s such a great tradition, and I’m glad I can be a part of it." Birkhead had special memories at the Barnstable Brown Party last night - it’s where he met Anna Nicole Smith, the future mother of his child, Dannielynn, in 2004.

Single pop legend SIR PAUL McCARTNEY sparked rumours of a romance with sexy opera star Natasha Marsh at the Classical Brit Awards this week - after confiding in friends he found her "very sexy".

Hollywood star BRAD PITT is refusing to reveal his bare bottom in his latest movie role, insisting producers find a double to replace his rear.

Actress DAME DIANA RIGG’s trademark catsuit from THE AVENGERS turned her into an overnight sex symbol - but the figure-hugging leather outfit was "a nightmare" to get in and out of.
The television star - who played glamorous secret agent Emma Peel in the 1960s series - took almost an hour to disrobe after shooting scenes.
She recalls, "The leather catsuit I wore in The Avengers was a total nightmare; it took a good 45 minutes to get unzipped to go to the loo. It was like struggling in and out of a wet-suit."

Former LOST star MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ has lashed out at the editors of lesbian magazine Curve after they made her their cover girl without her permission.
The actress has refused to confirm or deny ongoing reports she’s gay and she insists the magazine’s attempts to ‘out’ her are not welcome.
In a posting on her website, Rodriguez, 28, writes, "I guess Curve magazine took it upon themselves to out me on the premise of their own suspicions.
"I’m not insulted, I have a big lesbian following, and for whatever reasons they show me love. I’m never going to shun, disrespect or neglect anybody who shows me genuine non-psychotic love.
"I will say this: To put words in someone’s mouth and place people in categories affects them for sure, especially in this business.
"I don’t know what the intent behind the Curve magazine cover was. I wasn’t informed of it, I had no idea they were planning on using my image to sell magazines." But Curve executive editor Diane Anderson-Minshall claims she’s puzzled by Rodriguez’s outrage - because she had no intention of ‘outing’ the star.
She tells People magazine, "I am sorry that Michelle Rodriguez feels like we’ve outed her. If she would read the article, she could see that is simply not true. Our intention was definitely not to do that."

Movie star JANE FONDA kicked off a televised tribute to CNN anchorman LARRY KING by turning up in person to honour her pal.
Wearing a white suit, the actress stunned the broadcaster during a special show to honour his 50 years in the business, which aired in America last night (04May07).
She said, "Hey Larry, I thought I’d just stop by and say, ‘50 years, you’ve gotta be kidding…’ He doesn’t look a day over 50." She then spoke fondly of her special friendship with the newsman, adding, "You’ve always been a real good friend and you’re one of my favourite people to have as a guest in my ranch." Fonda also had a little fun at King’s expense, joking about his skills as a horseman: "For those of you watching from home you haven’t lived until you’ve seen Larry on a horse; it’s a little bit like George W. Bush in a flight suit it’s just wrong." She concluded by praising King’s interview technique, stating, "Being interviewed by him is like sitting in a living room with a friend… who’s smart, who’s kind (and) a little bit flirtatious." The TV ‘roast’, hosted by comedian Bill Maher, also featured quirky video tributes from former President George Bush, Hugh Hefner, Sarah Ferguson, Chris Rock, Whoopi Goldberg, Ashton Kutcher and Alec Baldwin, who poked fun at his pal’s interviewing technique and joked that the left arm King leans his chin on when listening to guests is false.
The actor said, "Larry lost his arm in an accident when he was a child." Celine Dion also joined the celebration, via satellite from her home in Las Vegas, and thanked King for helping to calm her nerves when he first interviewed her on his CNN show Larry King Live. She recalled, "Not only was it one of the biggest moments in my career, in my life, I was very impressed with the way Larry interviewed me.
"He knew I was scared and he was so respectful, he’s so generous… and he always asked the right questions." Dion even broke her no-singing-before-a-show rule and sang Because You Loved Me unaccompanied for the broadcaster.

LATEST: DAVID HASSELHOFF’s ex-wife has called the actor’s latest public attack on her part of an "all-out hate fest".
The Baywatch creator sent a damning statement to US media outlets yesterday (04May07) accusing his former wife, Pamela Bach, of making assault allegations against him as nothing more than a publicity stunt.
Angry about a TV interview, during which Bach claimed Hasselhoff would attack her in violent alcohol-fuelled rages, the actor called her comments "false" and "obscene".
In the statement, the Knight Rider star also repeated claims his ex-wife has "tested positive for alcohol and illegal substances in response to court ordered testing". He also attacked his ex-wife’s new attorney, Debra Opri, accusing the woman, who recently represented Larry Birkhead in his custody battle for Anna Nicole Smith’s baby daughter, of sharing "a thirst for publicity" with Bach.
Firing back at Hasselhoff, Opri has released a statement. She writes, "His private conduct behind the scenes continues to be deplorable in that he refuses to accept responsibility for his actions by transferring blame to his ex-wife.
"This is the behaviour of a man in denial who arrogantly spins his explanations to the media in an attempt to save face. The spinning is over." Opri also points out that a three-month-old video of an intoxicated Hasselhoff, which was leaked to the media earlier this week (ends04May07) and features the actor growling obscenities at his teenage daughter, could land him in big trouble.
She adds, "His continuing abuse of alcohol violates court orders."

The soul superstar originally wanted Bailey Rae to play her in the new stage show after seeing snaps of the singer, but sadly her television persona proved a let-down.
Franklin says, "I almost cast her as one of the characters in my play and in the movie, but when I saw her on TV… well, her pictures look one way and when I saw her on TV she looked a little different so I don’t think so." DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star FELICITY HUFFMAN has jumped to LINDSAY LOHAN’s defence insisting the young actress was a delight to work with on the set of Georgia Rule.
Huffman plays the 20-year-old actress’ alcoholic mother in the film, which also features Jane Fonda, and she has nothing but praise for the Mean Girls star.
This comes after a producer of the film publicly admonished Lohan for her tardiness on set and Fonda admitted she was forced to march into the young actress’ trailer when she was late for a scene.
Huffman hopes that once moviegoers see the new film, the "gossip" surrounding Lohan, who recently underwent a stint in rehab to curb her wild ways, will disappear.
She tells Parade magazine, "To me, Lindsay was a complete and utter delight.
The minute I met her I just loved her. She meets you with an open heart and wide-open eyes and gets right in there.
"She cares about the work. She throws herself in 100 per cent. I just adored her. She’s fantastic in the movie. It doesn’t get any better than what she did.

LATEST: A Los Angeles judge stunned Hollywood minutes ago (04May07) after sentencing PARIS HILTON to jail for 45 days.
The heiress fought back tears as the sentence was handed down to her at Los Angeles County Superior Court after she was found guilty of violating her probation on an alcohol-related reckless driving charge.
Before the hearing, Hilton, who was joined in court by her parents Rick and Kathy, apologised to Judge Michael T. Sauer for driving her Bentley with a suspended license in February (07).
But Sauer was determined to be tough, dismissing claims from Hilton’s publicist, Elliot Mintz, that neither he nor his client were aware her license had been suspended, following a drink driving arrest last year (06).
The judge called Mintz’s testimony "completely worthless," adding that Hilton had paperwork in her car stating that her license had been suspended.
He then told the socialite she would have to serve the full 45 days in jail and she was not eligible for work release. He also insisted that she wouldn’t be able to pick where she served her time.
Hilton will begin her jail stint at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Los Angeles County on 5 June (07).
