Danny DeVito has launched his own line of limoncello.
The actor, who appeared on a US talk show seemingly intoxicated following a night of drinking limoncello with George Clooney, is promoting a signature line of the citrus-flavoured liqueur.
He will work with Harbrew Imports Ltd to develop Danny DeVito’s Premium Limoncello.
Harbrew CEO Richard DeCicco said: ‘He’s a beloved entertainer with a refined palate and a taste for the good life, and this spirit suits his spirit perfectly.’ DeVito shocked viewers with his dishevelled appearance on US TV show ‘The View’ last November. The actor was supposed to be promoting film ‘Deck the Halls’, but instead branded President George W. Bush "numbnuts", spoke about his sex life and sat in presenter Rosie O’Donnell’s lap.
DeVito said: ‘I knew it was the last seven limoncellos that was going to get me.’ Clooney admitted he contributed to DeVito’s intoxication by tricking his friend into drinking more than him.
He said: ‘I got to the point where I was dumping the shots into a plant next to me and I don’t think Danny saw me do that. Danny kept going after I was done. He clearly got more hammered than I did.’ Danny DeVito’s Premium Limoncello will be sold for $25 a bottle when it hits stores this summer.
