ABDUL MELTDOWN IS CAUGHT ON TAPE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:52 pm

American Idol judge PAULA ABDUL has been caught sobbing on camera during a recent conference call, insisting her management have treated her badly.
In footage obtained by the New York Post, Abdul can been seen blasting former representative Howard Bragman - who she accuses of calling her "a whining bitch and a loser." She says, "I’ve never been treated this way and I’ve never seen anybody treated this way. This is just too much to stomach.
"I’m being tested. All I’ve ever wanted in my life is to be treated fairly and be treated with kindness. And I’ve never in my entire career been treated this way. The people who are supposed to take care of these things do not. I have to clean up after them everywhere they go. And I’m tired of it." Abdul also outlines her health problems, including an adrenal disease called Addison’s, wailing, "I’ve been going through tremendous amounts of a difficult time." The conference call is thought to have been taped earlier this week (begs28May07). Abdul seems to be talking to a group of publicists.

EX-WIVES FORM CLUB FOR NEW TV SHOW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:46 pm

The former partners of DONALD TRUMP, SYLVESTER STALLONE and KEVIN FEDERLINE have turned their failed relationships into a TV show.
Marla Maples, Trump’s ex-wife, Angie Everhart, Stallone’s ex-wife and Shar Jackson, Federline’s former girlfriend and mother of two of his children, have joined forces for the Ex-Wives Club, a new series hoping to change people’s lives through their combined experience of unsuccessful partnerships.
But the trio insist they shouldn’t be typecast as simply former wives and girlfriends on the arms of famous men.
Maples tells U.S. TV host Larry King, "Producer Andrew Glassman came to me with an idea. When I heard the title, I said ‘Don’t put me in a box. I don’t see myself just as an ex-wife. I see myself as so much more’ and then he told me the creative reason for it. And it’s truly about stepping out and sharing what we’ve learned to help other people and that’s what life is for. I mean, if we don’t learn from all of the difficulties, then how do we grow as a person?’" However, her former husband Trump isn’t too happy about the show’s premise and believes his ex-wife "isn’t allowed" to take part.
He tells King, "I spoke to Marla about it. As you know she’s not allowed to do it because we have a thing called an agreement. It’s called a prenuptial agreement. She’s not allowed to be doing that.
"But I haven’t seen it yet. If I look at it, I will tell you whether or not I approve. But she’s a nice person. We have a very beautiful daughter and Marla is a very nice person. So I hope it’s OK. But she’s absolutely not allowed to be doing it."

LINDSAY LOHAN is enjoying her return to rehab because she is out of the public eye, according to a friend.
The Mean Girls actress checked herself into the Promises rehab facility in Malibu, California on Monday (28May07) - after she was arrested for driving under the influence at the weekend (26May07).
It is the second stint in rehab for Lohan, who completed a 30-day programme at Wonderland in Los Angeles earlier this year (07) - but pal Nate Newell says she is coping well.
Newell tells People.com, "She’s happy where she is and is just taking time to herself to learn and be okay. I’ve been in touch with her and she likes it.
"Wonderland is an outpatient service so she was back and forth from the (I Know Who Killed Me) set, but this time she’ll totally be there (at inpatient centre Promises). She just needs to be away from everyone and not get attacked by the paparazzi.
"She’s doing really, really well. She probably should be there and it will be the best for her. I think now she’s ready for it."

BECKHAM TO LOSE OUT ON KNIGHTHOOD?

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:43 pm

Government officials in the U.K. have reportedly launched a campaign to block soccer star DAVID BECKHAM from receiving a knighthood.
The former England captain could lose out on the country’s top honour - which would see him titled Sir David Beckham - because of his move to Los Angeles with wife Victoria later this summer (07) as he begins a contract with L.A Galaxy.
The transatlantic transfer is the source of contention among British officials who help decide who is given the honour.
A source told London’s Evening Standard, "His name has been put forward but there is a view among some officials that it should not be approved while there is a conflict between his future as an England player and his contract with an American club.
"Some officials feel that there is nothing wrong with honouring a player who is based in Europe and free to represent his country if required, but feel there is a big difference if the same player is earning his main income and paying tax in the United States and unable to play for England." Beckham was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2003.

THE LORD OF THE RINGS SHOW IS SUSPENDED AFTER INJURY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:40 pm

A musical production of THE LORD OF THE RINGS in London has been suspended after a member of the cast broke his leg on stage.
The injured actor is believed to have caught his leg in the machinery of the £1 million ($2 million) moving hydraulic stage shortly after the performance began in the Theatre Royal in the West End.
A 2,300-strong audience was told a "technical problem" had occurred, but were informed 20 minutes later by producer Kevin Wallace the production had been cancelled due to further investigation into a cast member’s accident.
An audience member tells London’s Evening Standard, "The actors were exiting stage right when I heard a noise and somebody shouted, ‘My leg, my leg!’ At first nobody was sure if it was part of the story or not.
"It was quite dark and there were a lot of actors on stage so we couldn’t see who it was but they were clearly in pain. Then there was a break for 10 minutes because of technical problems." Lord Of The Rings producers has issued a statement they are "looking at modifying the stage". Performances of the show are due to resume on Saturday

FANTASTIC FOUR COIN IS ILLEGAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:40 pm

LATEST: A promotional FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER coin to celebrate the movie’s release has been deemed illegal.
Marketing bosses collaborated with Franklin Mint to create 40,000 new coins featuring the Silver Surfer’s image on one side and George Washington’s face on the other, but the commemorative item contravenes tough U.S. laws on producing money.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Mint says, "The promotion is in no way approved, authorised, endorsed or sponsored by the United States Mint, nor is it in any way associated with the United States Mint." The coins were distributed in America before Memorial Day weekend (26-27May07) in a bid to encourage fans to log on to the website to win film-related prizes.
But it is a federal crime to turn any form of legal tender into advertising, and the makers of the coin are likely to face a fine.
Fox alleges it was unaware of any problem with producing the money, and never suggested "that there was any approval from the U.S. Mint or the U.S.
government".
The Franklin Mint says, "(The coins are) commemorative coins like many the Franklin Mint creates on a regular basis for various properties. We were confident this coin followed the same procedures and guidelines but will certainly take any steps if advised otherwise."

He says, "It was scary. I’d only been drinking booze, it must have been spiked.
