Gospel singer JAMES B. DAVIS has died at the age of 90.
The veteran musician passed away in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 17 April (07). No cause of death has been given.
Davis founded vocal group The Dixie Hummingbirds aged 12 in 1928.
Over the following 70-plus years, Davis remained a constant as members came and went and the group changed its name.
In 1973, The Dixie Hummingbirds won a Grammy Award for their collaboration with Paul Simon on Loves Me (Like A Rock).
Davis married his wife Hortense in 1937. She died in 1993.
