The royal - who befriended Kate when she was dating her cousin Prince William - is planning a fun-packed trip to the coastal town in a bid to cheer up the brunette following her split from William just over a week ago.
A source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: ‘The pair became close pals during Kate’s four-year romance with Wills and Zara was gutted when they broke up recently. So she’s organising a surprise weekend to Brighton for Kate and is hoping it will happen in the next few weeks.’ Zara, 25, is reportedly booking six of her and Kate’s closest friends into the Grand Hotel and is busy organising the weekend’s itinerary.
A source said: ‘Zara will book a table for them at the uber cool veggie restaurant Terre a Terre.
‘From there, she has four bars in mind she wants them to go to. She also hopes to end the evening at the Babylon Lounge for a good old dance.
‘On the Saturday they’ll go for a morning stroll along the pier and the beach and then they’ll hit the town for some antique shopping.
‘In the evening she thinks they will have a hoot at the casino. They may even do some karaoke for a giggle.’ Kate, 25, and William - who met as students at Scotland’s St Andrews University in 2001 - amicably decided to part ways after a heart-to-heart during a skiing holiday.
