Sexy slip-up
US Republican officials accidentally sent voters postcards advertising a sex line phone number.
The New York state lawmakers planned to reinforce their strict anti-crime stance by giving constituents a hotline number to ring which warns them about sex offenders in the neighbourhood.
However, the number they printed on the cards was actually for a phone sex line.
Republican spokesman Ed Ward admitted: "Apparently there was an error in the phone number. Instead of the 1-800 code printed on the postcards, the number should have begun 1-888." When voters rang the number, they were shocked to hear a voice saying: "Hey there, sexy guy. Welcome to an exciting new way to go live, one on one, with hot horny girls waiting right now to talk to you." Two years ago, the US Justice Department accidentally mailed out the same number.
