DO OR DIE RAPPER’S GIRLFRIEND FOUND GUILTY OF BRIBING WITNESS
The girlfriend of American rapper DARNELL ‘BELO’ SMITH has been convicted of obstructing the course of justice and bribing a witness involved in her boyfriend’s murder trial.
Smith, a member of the Chicago rap group Do Or Die, stands accused of murder after shooting a man during a gang-related fight in November 2002.
And his girlfriend Felicia Hamilton now faces up to three years behind bars after paying a witness $1,000 (£513) to lie in court. She was found guilty after the witness wore a wire to provide evidence for police, reports AllHipHop.com.
Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Karen Kerbis says, "We see recants every day in courtrooms. We become so immune to it." Smith’s trial is set to begin on 9 July (07).
