FERRY FACES AXE FROM AD CAMPAIGN
Roxy Music star BRYAN FERRY could face being axed from a British high street giant’s advertising campaign after confessing his admiration for the Nazi propaganda machine.
Ferry praised the work of propaganda filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl in a recent (Apr07) interview with German publication Welt am Sonntag.
But his remarks have unnerved Jewish communities, who are calling for the singer to be dropped from the Marks and Spencers (M&S) advertising campaign - a store founded and owned by Jewish immigrant Michael Marks.
Lord Janner, former president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, says, "It is deeply offensive when people think they can joke about the Nazis.
"M&S should have a serious rethink about employing him."
