DAME SMITH PLAY FAILS TO SELL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:50 pm

A play starring DAME MAGGIE SMITH will not be axed from the London stage despite lacklustre sales at the box office, according to the show’s former PR spokesman.
The Oscar winner was cast in The Lady From Dubuque by theatre director Antony Page in a bid to boost ticket sales, but despite a reduction in prices, seats at the Haymarket Royal remain empty for the daily shows.
The Lady From Dubuque is due to run until 9 June (07), but critics are claiming the date is looking ambitious.
However, former PR spokesman for the production, Peter Thompson says, "It’s a terrific play and most shows have seat available from the half price booths.
It’s only Equus and The Sound of Music that you can’t get a ticket to."
