Sausage stops trains
An Australian train driver said a hot sausage roll was to blame for a 14-minute delay.
The driver said he was temporarily blinded when he bit into the piping hot lunch - so he decided to clock off early.
The incident was featured in a list of excuses given by CityRail train drivers for leaving work early during 2005 and 2007.
Investigators also discovered that twelve members of staff had injured themselves while stepping onto non-existing platforms.
Other cases included a man who punched himself on the nose while trying to open a window and a driver who stopped mid-journey because he had an eyelash in his eye.
However, one female driver managed to carry on working despite being bitten by a spider behind the ear.
