Cartoons in court

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:36 pm

A German children’s author and illustrator are set to battle each other in court over whether their book’s character should get married.
Ellis Kaut - who created one of the country’s most popular cartoon characters Pumuckl the imp - is angry that his illustrator Barbara von Johnson has pledged her support to a TV show contest to design Pumuckl a girlfriend.
The winner will take part in a ceremony to see the imp ‘marry’ his new love.
While Barbara thinks it’s about time he was allowed some romance, Ellis thinks the idea would ruin his child-like spirit.
He said: "Pumuckl is a pure child of fantasy, a spiritual being, and he must remain that way.
"Imps take part in good or bad frolicking, but frolicking without sexuality."
